Trump''s military parade to cost $30 million but no tanks

When I pay my taxes this year I will remember how Trump saved us taxpayers 1.4 billion dollars on the Airforce 1 deal with Boeing.Besides,Trump is a billionaire. He is entitled to a certain standard of living.

You sir, our a troll. Jared, is that you ?

I think there is a driving range, and one hole with several tees. You might have to walk to the green.

Trump walk ? Bwahaha

He has to be our least fit, and fatest Pres since Taft. We know now why he cuts a check to get laid. The man has zero game.

It's like winning the electoral vote because you lose the popular vote.

The way I hear it someone told Trump President Warren Harding said Trump is a genius so now Trump wants to meet the guy. Have him over for dinner and some laffs. Whatever ****hole country Harding's from, just go get him and bring him here.

I think they use golf carts to get around the compound.

There you go. But there is still the downside that Trump can't bill the Secret Service expenses at Camp David. A weekend at his own property is much more profitable.

You've got that right, sister.

BTW, love your avatar.

The Army is in charge of organizing and executing Trump's Parade. Chief of Staff General Mark A. Milley wants a parade based in tradition and the battle history of all the armed forces. No tanks, no missiles, no mother of all bombs on heavy duty trucks, no matter how hollowed out the mothers would be. Gen. Milley points out for example that the roads and streets of Washington (and NYC) had to be repaved after the Desert Storm parades of 1991. JCS are organizing a huge flyover as central to the special event.

Trump's Pop Corn Parade. The reality is that Trump's Parade will in fact be more like the Bastille Day Parade than a Red Square lineup heavy weapons display. JCS will once again shame Kim Jong Fat....

The U.S. Army Caisson Platoon of the 3rd U.S. Infantry Regiment (The Old Guard) will be among the Army units leading the way in Donald Trump’s parade.

Members of the regiment, based at Fort Myer, Va., have marched as the official “Escort to the President” in every parade procession since the 1953 inaugural parade of President Dwight D. Eisenhower after President Harry Truman officially bestowed that title on the unit in 1952.

Other Army units confirmed for the procession include the 1st Cavalry Division’s Horse Cavalry Detachment from Fort Hood, Texas, and the 1st Infantry Division Commanding General’s Mounted Color Guard from Fort Riley, Kan. Photo by: U.S. Army

Commander in Chief Guard will march in Trump's Parade. CinC Guard replicates the select personal guard of General George Washington during the Revolutionary War. CinC Guard escorted President Washington to his swearing in at Federal Hall in New York City. Today's CinC select Guard are Company A, 4th Battalion, 3rd Infantry Regiment The Old Guard of the Army, Ft. Myer, Va.

“Our most important missions are in relationship with the president of the United States. We play for arrivals for foreign leaders and dignitaries at the White House, and of course we’ll be in the escort formation that will salute the president of the United States,” Ellwein said.

USAF Ceremonial Drill Team Wows 'Em at International Military Tattoo

This is how USA presents its military and armed forces to the world and to the people of the USA. These representations of the United States of America are the tradition, the heritage and the customary manner in which our military shows itself to people at home and abraod.

The Tokyo Marching Band Tattoo with USMC and AUS Bands combine to present the best of the allied armed forces in Japan and the Asia Pacific.

Japan Self Defense Forces Sing Amazing Grace in Marching Tattoo With USA Armed Forces Pacific

When the Japan Self Defense Forces are singing Amazing Grace we know the USA is ahead of the the competition in China, Russia, North Korea and Iran in particular. The performance includes the JSDF Combined Band and two platoons of the state official ceremonial guard of the Ground Self Defense Force (Army). It's good humor to note the video opens by showing what happens when a bunch of Japanese technicians get sent to a Radio Shack with a credit card hah. It's what U.S. Admiral Harry Harris the Pacific-Asia commander quipped is the solution to Japan's interservice communications issues. Japan the island nation is in respect of the Asian continent and Pacific Ocean the equivalent to USA of Britain concerning Europe and the Atlantic. Our most reliable ally in dealing with China's overbearing policies, for sure. Then there are the two Koreas to deal with.

Period uniforms, wheeled vehicles, a grand finale featuring a military air show — but no tanks. Pentagon officials have released details of what a military parade requested by President Donald Trump will include, according to a memo first reported by CNN.

The memo says the parade will coincide with the annual Washington, D.C., Veterans Day parade and focus on celebrating the contributions of U.S. military veterans, who will be marching from the White House to the Capitol, showcasing uniforms from wars of past eras.

They will be accompanied by wheeled vehicles, but no tanks to “minimize damage to local infrastructure.” The display of heavy military vehicles had been a part of Trump’s original vision for the parade.
==========================================================
Instead of spending $30 million to inflate Trump's already oversized ego, why not spend the money on improving health care at veteran's hospitals?

Since that time it was last mentioned, I haven't heard a word from Trump about this. Are you trying to tell us this is a real planned event?

One of the most disgusting decisions Trump has made... Well, if you're going to embarrass yourself and the country, you may as well go all they way.

From the OP:

Trump is getting his military parade — and here’s what it will include

Published: Mar 10, 2018 11:45 a.m. ET

Reading is fundamental

Trump's Parade is not a Pentagon idea. Not in any way. Pentagon would never conjure up the heavy weapons vehicle parade Trump tried unsuccessfully for the inauguration and now with this typically Trump hairbrained idea.

Pentagon however will proceed to plan and organize Trump's Parade unless Trump says to quit the idea. Trump is CinC, he ordered up a grandiose Red Square model of a parade and Pentagon has been dialing it down and back since. Not only is a foreign dictator parade a terrible idea, Pentagon and the American people have a couple of holding wars going on in addition to numerous small conflicts on a couple of continents.

It is Trump's Parade because he thought of it, he ordered it and he expects some kind of parade or event. Only Trump the CinC can call off his wildman idea. And Trump is rather busy with a gross of other thingys at the moment. We know what Pentagon thinks of the idea in their proposed parade route, which is from the White House to the Capitol. That's like backing the inaugural parade back up Trump's ass.

Actually, most of the security at Camp David is provided by the Marine Corps. He only has a small personal security detail when at the Camp.

That is because the Camp is actually part of the Thurmont Naval Support Facility.

Originally built as a WPA project to make a recreation camp for military and Federal agents, it was later taken by FDR and made into a Presidential Retreat called "Shangri-La". Then Ike renamed it to Camp David after his grandson.

But from 1942 until today, the main security is provided by Marines. They are part of the Presidential Security Detail, headquartered out of 8th & I.

And during several Administrations, there were proposals to largely abandon Camp David and set up similar arrangements at another location. For JFK it was Hyannis Port. For President Reagan, it was Rancho del Cielo. Bush Sr. had Kennebunkport, Maine and Bush Jr. had Crawford, Texas.

Trump so far has actually split his time between his resorts in New Jersey and Florida.

But no matter where they go, Camp David is under close security 24-7, because it is part of an active Naval base.

Something ironic about the US having 'an active Naval base in the landlocked mountains of Maryland!'

Why? Their basic training for decades has been in Illinois.

Other major facilities are in Indiana, Nevada, Arizona, New Mexico, Idaho, Tennessee, and North Dakota.

I have known sailors that served in the Navy for 4 years, and never saw the ocean.
