I spent 22 years in the military, and I'm pretty sure I never saw a document go from Top Secret/NOFORN to Unclassified before today. This downloadable memo appears in its original form, with the classification headers lined out, and NOTHING redacted!

With a HIC yes vote, Nunes sent his 4 page memo to the White House. As President, Trump can de-classify any government document for any reason, or for no reason at all.

That was the whole point of the Nunes Memo being sent to the White House.

Because of its GOP majority (13/9), the House Intelligence Committee voted to not allow a rebuttal 10 page Democrat Memo to be sent to the White House and declassified.

I understand your point, and agree in principle. It's just that I don't think the President gives a hoot about protecting sensitive information.

He doesn't. He's a pud.

There's nothing in the Nunes Memo that should have been classified in the first place.

The vast majority of government agencies abuse the classification system to keep Congress or the public in the dark, fearing that scrutiny would put continued funding of a program or project in jeopardy, or for reasons of embarrassment.
