Seems that back in 2014 someone in the Royal Navy accidentally fired a torpedo into the high security dockyard. Apparently he didn't use a checklist he was supposed to have.

I don't know how things work in the Royal Navy (or, for the most part, the US Navy) but I figure something like this could leave a mark on one's record.

Not to mention on whatever it hit had it been a live warhead.

Someone(s) career is sure to come to a screeching halt.

I was in the "dryer" service, but an ND on any weapons system would likely result in a 15-6 investigation, and you best pray the ND wasn't on anything larger than a .50 cal.

I cant even begin to imagine the pucker factor on that boat when the torpedo fired....inside a shipyard no less.

What year did you do the North Atlantic? I have done 2 North Atlantic cruises.

Did you get your "Blue Nose"

Yes on the Blue Nose.

It was not a North Atlantic cruise, we just took part in an exercise on the way back from the gulf. Would have been '92, maybe Feb/March or so. I was on the Eisenhower.
