She Calculated Rocket Trajectories by hand - Really Superior

Until they filmed the movie, Hidden Figures here in Monroe, Georgia, I was completely unaware of these women. It is an excellent movie that teaches kids today what life was like before computers and even with the first computers.
 
I also must say, kudos to the photographer, that is one of the better portraits I've seen in a very long time.

I enjoyed the movie, despite it sometimes playing fast and loose with the facts. Amazingly though, John Glenn specifically asking for her to check the numbers the computer gave or he would not fly is true(though he did it well in advance, the rush from the movie was pure fiction). Amazing woman.

Oh, and her birthday is tomorrow, August 26..

Yeah, I looked after I posted. I'm usually not a fan of Leibovitz, as I think she tries to hard to be a provocateur, but this shot is great.
