North Korea may have Launched its First ICBM.

We don't have a choice. Trump drew lines in the sand when he has repeatedly said he would not allow NK to have a deliverable weapon. Just recently, in regards to NK having an ICBM, he tweeted "Will not happen". Looks like it has. So he has to do something now doesn't he. Can't be drawing lines and then walking back like some liberal.
Well he has walked it backed

He said he does not believe in red lines in a speech yesterday regarding NK

Is that the meme of the day or did you just make that up yourself? The only lies came from your leader and his cohorts. The Trump is going to meet with Putin Friday and the word is that the Whitehouse is terrified of him being alone with Vlad. You should be too...but what do you think they are worried about?
According to European intelligence sources Putin believes he can get concessions on sanctions by promising Trump cooperation in Syria. Trump, who has expressed admiration for Putin’s leadership style and refused to criticize him, clearly wants to show he can do something past presidents couldn’t: strengthen and stabilize the U.S.-Russia relationship without getting played. The problem, of course, is that for months the United States has been getting played. After interfering in the U.S. election last fall and experiencing little more than a rhetorical slap on the wrist, Putin’s takeaway is simple: Russia’s aggressive actions such disinformation campaigns, buzzing U.S. ships and planes, energy coercion, and hacking carry no consequences. And if Trump and his White House team don’t come up with a plan fast, the United States will get played once again when the two leaders meet next week. Trump needs both a strategy and a message.
This first meeting between Trump and Russia will be hugely consequential for future of the U.S.-Russia relationship as well as the wider transatlantic community. It will also tell us a lot about how this administration plans to deal with authoritarian leaders in the future. That’s why it’s important to get it right. Trump needs to come to this meeting prepared, well-informed, and armed with ideas and countermeasures. If he ignores the advice of his very capable Russia hands and decides instead to rely on his “good brain,” the results could be disastrous. Putin brings decades of experience to this meeting and is coming to the table with a plan. We need one too.

‘No Specific Agenda’ Means Trump Will Get Played by Putin, Again | Foreign Policy
I have no interest in hearing anything from or about any European intelligence agency.

Yes it is

North Korea will not attack first unless it believes it is going to be attacked and its leadership is going to be removed (ie preemptive strike). If NK has nuclear weapons, it has the means to deliver them to Japan, South Korea, much of China already without the use of its newly tested missile's extra range. In my opinion if NK leadership believes that they are going to be killed/removed from power then they will use whatever nuclear weapons they have on the biggest cities they can reach. If they are going to die if they don't use nukes, then using nukes holds no downsides for them. The fact that NK would be reduced to rubble after would not matter as they would be dead either way

Attacking NK beyond a small punitive strike (which NK will respond to ) will lead to a major war and if NK has nukes, the use of those nukes against countries that are involved in the war against them. I believe this as it would be what I would do in their shoes

So far all that North Korea has proved is that they are getting better at missile technology bit by bit. Look at all of the failures they had. The question is whether or not they are able to make a small enough nuclear war head to attach to those missiles. Also keep in mind that nobody as of yet has made any attempt to shoot down their missiles. The US military could have destroyed that missile before it left the ground on the 4th. North Korea's artillery shells are outdated and probably would have a high failure rate. I am not suggesting that NK cannot does not have the ability to create major havoc, however I think many are overestimating their abilities. And if that insane fat boy that rules North Korea fears a possible first strike from the US, by his own actions he seems to be begging for one. If he keeps defying the USA, the UN, and the rest of the civilized world, at some point he will step over the line and everyone will consider the risk of allowing a rogue nation with an insane leader intercontinental nukes more risky then an all out war with North Korea.

The line though is not going to be from defying the US on what the US says NK can or can not do. It would have to be something far more drastic like a mass attack on SK or a missile strike (non nuclear) on another country. I am certain South Koreans will not be happy with 10s of thousands dead because NK leadership thumbed its nose at Trump

It's not a certainty that there will be 10,000 South Korean dead. It's quite possible that US and South Korean forces are ready and can prevent that. You can be sure that the North Koreans are being watched very closely both on the ground and by satellite.

I am sure North Korea is also watching or at least getting intell from China or Russia. I am sure they would notice any build up of forces that would be required to even attempt zero sk civilian losses

If the North Koreans fire one artillery shell across the DMZS or even look like their infantry is advancing an assault, they will be nearly immediately carpet bombed back into the stone age.....just as the Iraqi troops were in the 1991 gulf war. Then those same shell shocked troops will be massively invaded on the ground. If it comes to conflict and it remains conventional, I don't think the casualties in Seoul will be that high. If it goes unconventional, all bets are off on casualties, however there is also a very good chance that we can shoot down whatever they send towards South Korea. I am not suggesting that there cannot be a scenario where things get out of hand, however I think many are overestimating North Korea's military capabilities. The truth is that if the North Koreans are stupid enough to take on the US military, for them it will be like running into a meat grinder.
