Has the US military really improved in the last four months? Candidate Trump disparaged the military and now they are best of the best......what to think, has he improved them this quickly?

Well not to brag but yesterday it took my unit only 3 hours to dispatch some humvees so I guess we are getting better.

There is no doubt we voters were caught with our pants down last November but it does not help much to keep quoting Trumpian flip flops.
I wish fellow democrats would slow down and rally around this guy. He is the leader of our nation and needs our help teaching him.
All presidents go through a learning curve but he is starting from far behind.
So far I am pleased that he has moderate dems surrounding him that have more input than Banner. This is not a time to be partisan. November 2018 is.

They have rallied around him, now that he has formally committed military aggression against Syria by way of a false flag operation. They love him! Brian Williams and Van Jones both, and many others in Congress, are saying that with those illegal attacks he is finally acting in a presidential manner.

Yessir, the Democrats are stumbling over each other admiring the Emperor's New Clothes. Fascinating human behavior, to be sure.

I don't recall Candidate Trump ever disparaging the military. Do you have a particular quote from him that you think does so?

If you are not aware of the gushing of Brian Williams and Van Jones and numerous others, gushing in high praise over the SLCM attack on Syria, then you're not aware. Carry on troop.

OK, now I see your point. Yes, it was FF, and it was great. The Russians told the US of the attack before it happened by 24 hours, and the US took the ball and ran with it. By Thursday of that week, the FF theory was validated when The Donald sent the SLCM.

You won't be able to understand all that, but there you have it.

It's been going on since after the Russian jet was shot down by Turkey, the US & Russia work together when missions are scheduled, so each side will know what the other is doing, hoping to avoid confrontations and casualties.

Russia advised the US that Syria was striking a target and gave its location, 24 hours in advance. You're welcome. FF all the way.

Trump has sold out. He is now just another puppet of the military industrial complex. We no longer have a Republic, we have a totalitarian dictatorship run by the financial/military machine. The POS is just a fake position to allow the peasants to believe they still have some control over their own destiny.

I'm not sure whether to applaud what you said or just live in denial. Both are viable options.

Almost nothing will change for another year at least, more likely 2.

Just like there were almost no changes in 2009-2010. At this time the military is still operating under the last Obama budget, so any changes have been fairly minor.

Ask this again in mid to late 2019, after the military has had a while operating under a Trump budget.

I've tried living in denial, but I just can't handle it. However unpleasant, it's easier for me to just deal with the truth.

It is easier to tell the truth too, lying is too much work for me....keeping the story straight and all...I have never have been able to figure out why so many people do so much of it.

Guaranteed that the entire military will suffer from an increased budget. The bigger the military, the more effective but less efficient. And it's not like we haven't seen the total fallacy that "the bigger military always wins" fail time and time again throughout history. Trump seems more and more like a Reaganomist as time goes on. I suppose I should've seen it from the beginning.

I hope he does something that started over 20 years ago and reverses it.

That is goes through the DoD with an axe, and fires at least half of the civilians and contractors and puts back the military to doing those jobs. One thing that has bothered the hell out of me for years is going on a base and seeing a ton of things that 30 years ago were done by people in uniform now being done by over paid civilians.
