I don't like commercials with military members in foreign contries.

I do not believe that we as a collective society have the resolve, the guts, to do what it takes to actually win a war. Not anymore.

A big factor in the equation for your assessment is that all the wars we've brought since 1950 or so have had no moral cause, no legal cause. Vietnam and the GWOT were brought under fraud.

To borrow from the Bible, one cannot make a silk purse from a sow's ear. It's very fundamental, very simple.

I completely agree. WW2 was a war for "us". None since have really been so, except maybe Afghanistan in my mind, but even then if we don't have the resolve then it doesn't matter anyway. Afghanistan is still far away and 'not real' to many people, including our leaders, IMO.

Yes, and our invasion of Afghanistan would possibly have a moral foundation IF the official story of 911 were true.

IF the official story is not true, then our actions there were flat out military aggression, and illegal and immoral.

My wife and I are celebrating Thanksgiving tomorrow because of family member's schedules. I decided I would take a soak rather than a shower today. I turned on the TV to watch while I soaked and a commercial came on. It was a military member stationed in Afghanistan wishing his family a Happy Thanksgiving. I hope that sometime in my lifetime I will be able to experience a time where we don't have to have people in war zones and I don't have to watch another one of these commercials.

Thos commercials have been aired during peace time, too.
