GOP lawmakers want to limit flags on Iowa government building - New York Daily News

Republican lawmakers in Iowa want to limit the flags allowed to fly over public schools and government buildings.

The bill, which was moved from a subcommittee to a full committee for consideration on Monday, was introduced in response to a transgender pride flag which flew over the State Capitol building last year to commemorate Transgender Remembrance Day.

I think these corn-suckers are a little too up tight about sexuality.

I agree with that legislator. Only the state and federal flag should be allowed to be flown as the state and federal laws government/constitution/laws are what the Capital building stands for, not political agendas of special interest groups. Maybe next they'll want to fly the CNN logo, Democratic candidate's or a Trump political flag.

Transgender Remembrance Day? What the hell does that even mean?

When is Midgets and Dwarfs Remembrance Day?

Yes, let's also fly some devil worshipper flags, some Nazi swatstikas, the flags of Russia, how ridiculous. They are buildings under the jurisdiction of the local, state or federal government and that's all the flags that should fly.

Quick search suggests it’s to remember those who have been killed for being so. I imagine if there were significant incidents of persecution of midgets and dwarfs, they could establish such a day as well. Whether a fly should flag on public buildings is another question.

The legislators didn't seem to have a problem with Transgender Remembrance Day...but rather the flying of the rainbow flag over the state capital. On this, I agree with the state legislators. The only flags that should be flying over any state capital or public building are the state and/or national flag.

Captial Building I can agree, all government buildings nope.

Yes, no one ever heard of employment and social discrimination against midgets and dwarfs.

How many transgenders do you claim have been killed in Iowa specifically because they were transgender and gender fluid?

The only number nationwide is 22 - and that declared by a Trans-activist that counted every death of a transgender as a hate crime - just like we know that all heterosexuals murdered were murdered because they were heterosexual, right?

It's not THAT big a deal, since is was for 3 minutes or so, other than it's own form of bigotry and discrimination against transgenders. Basically, this action was to make it official Iowa policy that transgenders are not one of US, but rather are one of THEM transgender people. WE should feel pity for THEM because THEY are like that - not like US.

Why not make it a "Wrongful death remembrance day" and cover all bases at once?

And Remembrance of the Spanish Influenza. Certainly need a "Remembrance of the Dust Bowl." Every unhappy, tragic thing - THAT is what we most need to remember. Forget all the fantastically wonderful events and wonderful things so many people in the past and in our lives now did to bringing us to having all we have today. Don't think about any of that good stuff.

Instead, think this: Everything was bad, always bad. Lots and lots of bad things happened. The more you think about it, the more bad things you can remember that you really should think about more. You should always strive to remember every bad thing in your and our past finding as many to always think about - or at least a whole day once a year for each one. Everything's going to get worst, really unimaginably bad in the future - and very soon. Bad stuff is happening now you should think about too.

It's easy. We, the government and the MSM ministers of the super rich and super rich international corporations, will tell you what bad thing(s) you are to think about today.

Maybe a "Wrongful death, tragedy, and disparity day" would be even better?

Or just "National Sadness Month" followed by a month for your list and then the next most depression set of thoughts each following month. The flag perpetually at half masts and upside down with a big red slash at an angle in a circle sprayed over it? We must remember how rotten this country was and is, don't we?

This 'corn-sucker' here isn't at all uptight about sexuality but does agree state/federal run buildings should just leave flags to state and federal flags.

The same people that say only the state and federal flag should be allowed on capital buildings are the same hypocrites that have no problem with crosses or the Ten Commandments being allowed in state and Federal buildings. They can **** off the hypocritical lot of them.

Look, there are too many aggrieved groups out there for public buildings to fly all of their flags. But all of the aggrieved groups ARE like us, and flying flags for them could just as easily mean that, rather than that they are different.
