Four Sikhs murdered in Cincinnati Suburb

Anyone who wears a turban or MAGA hat is going to be a target of racist attacks.

Get with Biden's program.

Freddy Mercury, just killed a man, catchy? #MAMA

Bullets actually-there is no evidence anyone was beaten to death by a gun or that a gun snuck up on one or more of the victims and garroted them or shanked them

What are bullets fired from again?

This isn't a thread about pretending to be anti gun or make this into a gun control wet dream. This is about a family of four, near where I live and in the same township my son resides in, being murdered for reasons that are not publicly known yet.

Any suspects yet?

Not that I am aware of--I missed the early evening news since I was coaching but I will see if the 11 PM news reports have anything new

Until we have a suspect(s), all we can do is project baseless opinions, and even if we are presented with a suspect(s), it should be left to the court to prosecute based on the evidence.

Local 12 (CBS-Cincinnati) just reported that three victims were all around 60 years of age, with the fourth being the youngest at 39. One person stated that he thinks the police recovered a gun from the pond near the shooting site, but the police have not yet confirmed that.

In the days following 911, on 15 September, one of the first Americans to be murdered was a Sikh in Phoenix. The Sikh, a former computer engineer and analyst for HP, had saved enough money to buy a gas station and other small businesses. At the time of his murder, he was planting flowers with a landscaper at his gas station in Mesa. The Sikh was shot 5 times by a hate filled bigot in retaliation for 911 because he wore a turban. The killer then drove directly to another store and attempted to shoot a Lebanese American but missed. Next, the killer fired shots at a house owned by a family that had immigrated from Afghanistan. Fortunately, no one was injured.

The killer, soon arrested, is doing life without parole.

I have known a few Sihks. To my experience they are peaceful people. I don't know the motive for the murders committed in Ohio but the first assumption must be it had something to do with their religion and their attire.

You are off topic. This killing is not, presumably, a hate crime...Unless you think all crimes against minorities are hate crimes?...In which case, the hate crime could presumably be yours.

After 9/11, that was a thing. Everyone assumed "Turban = Muslim" and they were attacked.
Lotta Sikhs were hate crime victims in the weeks following 9/11.

Off topic. This crime isn't, presumably, a hate crime.

Yeah. Let's make America moral again by intimating Trump is a racist, fascist, any other bad word that comes to mind w/o the proof. I wonder, Joe, is lying being moral?

That is the current speculation, but until a suspect or suspects are detained, no one really knows.

Police say there is no threat to the community. Are there no more 'turban-wearers' in the neighborhood? EDIT: Police is intimating the crime was personal. And no stolen goods were taken (I would've, at least, done that to force police to pursue incorrect leads)...So I could make a getaway. A crime of passion, maybe? The father, the one who reported the murders and the only survivor?

Yes, but for months the police thought the big Piketown murders were cartel related -turns out to be a child custody dispute that is now alleged to have caused the big massacre of three years ago.

I bet the person of interest in this is the father. EDIT: Won't wager any money, though.:2wave:

I knew a couple sikhs when I was on the squash tour since it's a big sport in India. U of Western Ontario's top player when I was a senior in college was a Sikh. His coach was a friend of mine and I got to know him a bit. Wonderful person. After 9-11, some moron killed a Sikh cab driver thinking the guy was a muslim!. Another squash friend of mine was an Indian Muslim. He noted to me how completely idiotic that was given past rivalries between Sikhs and Muslims. HE-a Muslim-noted that Sikhs were the best allies a country could have and the worst enemies one could fight. I think the crime rate of Sikhs in the USA is about zero. I remember we briefed the TSA about Sikhs and their knives.

It will be interesting to see what was the cause of this horrific massacre of four people who -as of now-had nothing in their backgrounds that would suggest they would be involved in this sort of massacre.

So what about their knives?

tRump quacks like a duck and poops through feathers.... :doh

That his Kool-Aid drinkers make all manner of excuses and ignore his many grotesque statements (***** grabbing) just like water off a tRump's back.... :peace

So what about their knives?

They are invariably dull and TSA was advised they are not an issue. What they do now, I know not, I retired a few years back

Wouldn't the knives look menacing on board the airplane by other passengers or flight crew?

Nope, they generally are not openly displayed IIRC
