Wisconsin couple says property owner ordered them to take down gay pride flag
"My flag is not doing anything," Kevin Kollman said. "It’s just a symbol of who we are, where we came from and our love for the United States."
A Wisconsin couple said they were ordered by the property owner of their apartment complex to remove their gay pride flag or face eviction.
Kevin Kollman and his partner, Merle Malterer, who rent a unit at Country Oaks Apartments in Oak Creek, Wisconsin, said they received a five-day eviction notice in the mail on Wednesday informing them that their lease would be terminated if they did not remove the gay pride American flag — which features 50 white stars and rainbow stripes — from the patio of the property.
====================================
These guys are in clear violation of the quoted clause in their lease.
"IF" this part is true:
and those people werent addressed in anyway about their flags resolving the issue or theres something left out then no they are not in clear violation at all and they are being illegally discriminated againstAbout 10 to 12 others at Country Oaks Apartments have American and police pride flags hung from their rental units, they said.
now . . is it possible that all the other residents asked or paid some type of fee or have an agreement that allows their flags? yes of course but its probably unlikely . . so again if that part is true then they have a case.
