Christopher Columbus’s journal from that period doesn’t exist, his journals and logs were lost in the 16th century, the journal quoted alleged to belong to him were written by Bartolomé de las Casas.

Who said anything about respecting crime and wrongdoing? Americans should respect the nation for its godliness and godly laws, traditions and values, not for its mistakes. Nobody should disrespect all Americans today because so many early southern democrats supported slavery, for example. Not all Americans supported slavery then any more than all Americans support ungodly ideas and laws today.

It is not wrong to say savage religions are savage. Even Darwin wrote of the differences between civilized people and savages.
