Great article about the Foxconn disaster in Wisconsin.

Trump and Walker (and Ryan) basically threw billions at this company to get them to relocate. They gave them tons of concessions, confiscated property, relaxed pollution standards, and are giving them $4.5 BILLION in straight cash to publicize their promise to employ 13,000 people.

Looks like they'll only be employing about 3000 people now, and those are 'knowledge workers' of which some may be brought in from China, and others will probably be coming from Illinois - which is about 15 miles away.

No wonder why Scott Walker is going to go down in flames, Ryan isn't even bothering to run, and Trump has quickly moved to his next scam.

Crony capitalism at work again.

Oh, man, I hope Walker isn't rewarded for his shameless double dealing here.

But I'm not counting any chickens before Tuesday night.

Included below is one take on this, an opinion, which is pretty harsh.

It does seem like this is crony capitalism off the rails. It was a hell of a deal in the first place but depending on source you like the cost of the subsidy is going up, the level of Foxconn investment in the factory is going down, and the promises on numbers to employ from Wisconsin are going down.

In all fairness this tends to happen anyway as once you hand out these sort of deals they tend to get more expensive for the tax payer, but Walker's legacy on making deals should take a hit on this one.

Exactly how many billions did Trump throw at this company?

This was just a major scam completely screwing our state.

Foxconn is a con and Walker is a dumbass for not having his people to do a little research. Several billion is likely to be the penalty for not protecting the taxpayers.

Those costs include taxpayer subsidies to the company totaling more than $4.5 billion, the largest subsidy for a foreign corporation in American history.

All ya gotta do is read man...

The other thing ya gotta do is grease the right palms. The company: Hon Hai Precision Industry Co., Ltd is from Taiwan, trading as Foxconn.

Trump and Walker are so stupid.

Wonder how many Trump condos they’ve bought.

I'm thinking that's State taxpayers. I see no indication the deal includes any federal money.

Is there something wrong with a company from Taiwan opening a plant in the US?

Trump was cheerleader only, this deal was done by Wisconsin. Yes is was a very stupid deal, but Wisconsin is rather desperate, they are in danger of becoming a Rust Belt State.

Ummm.... no. Wisconsin isn’t in danger of that at all.

They’re desperate because they have an idiot governor.

Foxconn is a con

For the last few years in Modern History we’ve been showing a documentary on China and Foxconn was featured. Suicide jumper rates amongst workers was so high the company had to install netting around the building. I was shocked when I found out we were paying this shady company billions to come to the US. Foxconn name is certainly apt.

its almost as if some believe a government subsidy of $1.5 Million per job was an unreasonable 'investment'

Agree. There’s an in-depth history on this crooked company, a rather mind-blowing depiction of repeatedly swindling countries/states.

How is it possible that Walker’s people missed this? My guess is that Foxconn must be offering kickbacks or something to suck in so many people involved in contract negotiations.

Ya'mean a foreign company lying like hell, getting all the cookies and then turning around and screwin the US?

What do you think?

Don't ever try to tell me how smart Trump is.

So taxpayers getting ripped off is okay with you.

Play your nonsense games with someone else.

My point was very specific. Read my post again if you didn't understand it.

Will be interesting to see what if anything our new governor can do to hold Foxconn accountable.

Make the company comply with the contract it signed would be a start
