Oh yeah... Matthew and Luke have tons of passages about sanctuary cities. Jesus' sermon on the mount and parable about "give a man a fish" was all about illegal South American's and overstaying Roman work visa's.

I'm sorry I missed the portion where he specifically invited those that do. You're op states that illegal immigrants are all these things and bashes sanctuary cities for inviting that element in, and now you are saying you have no doubts that illegals are by majority not these things.

Either you can prove a politician is specifically inviting in racists, thieves, and murderers. Or you can acknowledge you just pulled a Trump and insinuated that they are to pull some quick points. Or you can ignore your own statements and pretend I'm just attacking you because I'm a butt hurt liberal. Let's see which one you pick.

He invited illegal immigrants, whom you consider to be criminal, I am asking you to prove he invited Rapist's, Thieves, and Murderer specifically as your OP stated. Or acknowledge you just called them that to play to a base, who think of them as rapist's, thieves, and murderers. Which I am sure has nothing to do with their ancestry...

No he didn't, he invited illegal immigrants that Trump has accused of other crimes into his city. Which by the way, Trump in his statement said he was going to deport immigrants -notice the lack of illegal on there- who have been convicted of other crimes. As in if you came here legally, and got caught with some weed on you, you're going back.

You are trying to straw man Raum and others into defending a position that only exists in a Trumper's narrative. A narrative by the way created solely for the purpose of making a racist idea not sound racist. So no I will not be participating in this "Us vs Them" call to arms.

go about 5 miles any way and its hard core well armed conservatives. Nothing makes me laugh harder than liberals who talk about violent revolts. If one happened, the next election would be between the GOP and the Libertarians.

Of course, no one is talking about violent revolts. The current efforts underway are to make Columbus a sanctuary city. As for what lies beyond, it's mostly sparsely populated farmland, conservative trash, and heroin addicts between here and the next large city in any direction. They wouldn't be a problem in any case.

Oh, I understand harsh immigration laws designed to create sub class of workers that don't have to be paid as much nor provided benefits. Just because there is a law against something, doesn't make that law right. And as Americans we actually have a duty to stand up to the unjust, whether it's illegal or not. It's why we have that thing called the Constitution. We have freedom, security, and prosperity, and to look at someone and so, "Sorry, no freedom for you, fresh out Jorge." Sorry it would seem you don't understand the laws. The existing law are against illegal immigration. Period. These law are not designed to create a sub class of workers, far from it. No illegals no sub class. No illegals taking good American jobs. Period

But I understand you are for a open border. Let anyone one in our country no matter who they are, background etc.

Wrong again, we are a land of legal immigrants. We do not have an open border, and the only reason we have illegals in this country is because of liberals wanting holes in our border so all the sanctuary cities that harbor illegals have a pool of labor to clean their toilets. And those are all liberals cities that rely on illegals to do the work they feel are beneath them like cleaning their toilet. And you claim to be one of them.

We've been slacking in this regard for so long, there are very likely entire families out there who have spent there whole lives here, put down roots, and are quite literally part of the USA now, in every regard anyone could wish, barring some paperwork proving legally what is already the reality of their citizenship.

What do we do in those situations?


For myself personally, I do not approve of deporting people who are here, are contributing, and who are in all but legality, part of our society.
