Iran issues arrest warrant for Donald Trump over Qassem Suleimani killing | Iran | The Guardian

The leader of the Quds Force was killed in a drone strike in Iraq on 3 January

Iran has issued an arrest warrant for Donald Trump and 35 others over the killing of top general Qassem Suleimani and has asked Interpol for help, Tehran prosecutor Ali Alqasimehr said on Monday, according to the Fars news agency.

The United States killed Suleimani, leader of the Revolutionary Guards’ Quds Force, with a drone strike in Iraq on 3 January. Washington accused Suleimani of masterminding attacks by Iranian-aligned militias on US forces in the region.

Alqasimehr said the warrants had been issued on charges of murder and terrorist action. He said Iran had asked Interpol to issue a “red notice” for Trump and the other individuals the Islamic Republic accuses of taking part in the killing of Suleimani.

Alqasimehr said the group included other US military and civilian officials but did not provide further details. He said Iran would continue to pursue the matter after Trump’s time in office ended.

The killing of Suleimani brought the United States and Iran to the brink of armed conflict after Iran retaliated by firing missiles at US targets in Iraq several days later.

The chances of an escalating armed conflict with Iran are getting worse.

Can we just give him to them, and be square?

Iran knows how weak Trump is, even though the "warrant" is just for show the real next step they take will be telling on how little Iran is concerned with the US.

I have been exceptionally critical of our foreign policy over the past few decades anyway but this will not help Israel sleep at night.

I can bet that Iran has been accelerating the production of fission-grade U235 for a number f atomic bombs.

They should just step back and mind their own business. Iran has enough problems aside the ones with US and US has enough problems without middling in the affairs of other nations.

I cannot believe I just read that.

Did you just seriously call for the assassination of a US public official?

Seems Obama understood the issue better than you. First you need to let them create the missile technology BEFORE you let them produce the bomb which is much easier. That is exactly what Obama along with China and Russia did with the Iran deal. Though we don't know all of what we allowed as there still many hidden articles.

Funny how it’s a-okay for Solemiani to order the killing of US soldiers, but not alright for the US to take him out in reprisal

To overthrow a dictator who gassed his own people repeatedly.

Hmm.... sounds like someone you admire :lamo

The fantasy that if Saddam had stayed in power there would have been no sectarian violence simply lacks any evidence whatsoever .

There is little or no violence because they are under control.
There is lots of it within the secret confines of the government to dissenters.
That's how Muslim countries are run. An Iron fist, life or death, over the other Muslims.
