I brought this up on another thread a while ago when there was less information.
We were discussing honor killings and this was the latest.
In Islam a father is allowed to kill his children, and his children's children,
Some Islamic countries are passing laws, that incidentally violate Islamic teachings, to stop this,
but offenders usually get off with fines or light sentences.

BTW Abortion is harum, but you can kill your kids after they are born.
IMO, they should have killed the Man.

This mentality is seeping into free countries as people migrate.

Iranian President Hassan Rouhani has called for new protections for women after a 14-year-old girl was allegedly murdered by her father in a so-called "honor killing," sparking outrage in the country.

Romina Ashrafi's father is suspected of killing her with a farming sickle after she ran away from her family home in northern Iran's Talesh county with a 29-year-old man, the semi-official Fars news agency reported.

Police have arrested the teenager's father. Ashrafi's death has been widely covered by Iranian media across reformist, moderate and pro-government news outlets.
It is unclear whether the 29-year-old man will face criminal charges.
Amnesty International condemned the killing and called on authorities to ensure full "accountability" for the crime.
"We call on Iran's authorities & lawmakers to end the impunity for violence against women/girls & criminalize domestic violence. They must amend Article 301 of the Penal Code to ensure accountability proportionate to the severity of the crime, without resort to the death penalty," Amnesty said in a statement on Twitter, Thursday.

Using Iran, a backwards theocracy, to smear a religion. How obviously hate based.

I hate to be the bearer of bad news, but Iran is the Base, and home, of the Shia branch of Islam.

Seems to me you are the one with all the hate, you just can't identify where you want to place it.

Iran is conservative paradise. It's where good conservatives go when they die.
If evangelical Christian conservatives get their way you won't see much difference between Iran and America.

Half of Iran's population is under 30 and many are evolving and fed up with the old crap.

The problem is different than the states where we can demonstrate and protest.
They stomp out anti religious stuff quickly and efficiently.

Islamic Republic of Iran: Brother torches house, kills his 18-year-old sister for marrying a man he disliked
May 31, 2020 3:00 pm By Robert Spencer

“This comes as the news of the beheading of a 13-year-old girl by her father in a so-called ‘honor killing’ in the same province shook Iran on Tuesday and stoked a nationwide outcry.”
Why does this keep happening? According to Islamic law, “retaliation is obligatory against anyone who kills a human being purely intentionally and without right.” However, “not subject to retaliation” is “a father or mother (or their fathers or mothers) for killing their offspring, or offspring’s offspring.” (Reliance of the Traveller o1.1-2). In other words, someone who kills his child incurs no legal penalty under Islamic law. In this case the victim was the murderer’s daughter, a victim to the culture of violence and intimidation that such laws help create.
Muslims commit 91 percent of honor killings worldwide. The Palestinian Authority gives pardons or suspended sentences for honor murders. Iraqi women have asked for tougher sentences for Islamic honor murderers, who get off lightly now. Syria in 2009 scrapped a law limiting the length of sentences for honor killings, but “the new law says a man can still benefit from extenuating circumstances in crimes of passion or honour ‘provided he serves a prison term of no less than two years in the case of killing.’” And in 2003 the Jordanian Parliament voted down on Islamic grounds a provision designed to stiffen penalties for honor killings. Al-Jazeera reported that “Islamists and conservatives said the laws violated religious traditions and would destroy families and values.”
Until the encouragement Islamic law gives to honor killing is acknowledged and confronted, more women will suffer.

hello yes you home yasu?

i dont know why you think this is a good point

most regions of the world have certain cultural problems distinct to their region so using this problem as a smearing campaign for muslims is sad

albania, azerbajian, and bosnia are perfect examples that destroy your point of secular islam working

its really so interesting that America attacks Islam but then turn around and create the conditions that make all of this possible, our freedom and progressive ideas dont do well in tough living and war zones

Dude.

It is in the religion.

Not the culture.
Not the country

THE RELIGION.

LOLOLOL

It happens everywhere there is Muslims,
Yes, even in the United States.

You are obviously having a difficult time with your reading comprehension,
because there is enough info on this thread to show you where it comes from.

I have to see evidence of a civilize secular islamic state that has mass honor killings

it is the underdeveloped country that is the biggest factor

"Mass" honor killings.
WTF are you talking about.

they've turned them into "honor suicides"

honor killings happen in pretty much every country on Earth, secular or otherwise

But I don't blame Islam, it's definitely a "cultural" thing and the culture is primarily Arab. Non-Arab Muslim countries (with a few exceptions, mainly Pakistan) do not do Honor Killings.

Using Iran, a backwards theocracy, to smear a religion. How obviously hate based.

Tell me the name of an Islamic country that is not a "backward theocracy" and I will use that to "smear" Islam, a cruel and oppressive philosophy which I detest.

Actually that is not correct.
It is the Religion of Islam that promotes this, as was posted many times in this thread,
The religion is what defines the culture.
1400 years of being prisoner to Islam, defines your daily life.
The event is not documented in the culture, it is documented in the religion.

As was posted, 91% of honor killings are Islamic, and they happen in all countries there are Muslims. Yes, even America.

I hate Naziism and Communism. Perhaps you do too - Naziism at least. So just what is wrong with hating another totalitarian philosophy? The enemy of every kind of freedom? In your ignorance you continually reiterate the fallacy that Islam is merely a 'religion'; it is much more, including an unjust legal system and a political programme. Imo Islam is hateful. If you disagree so be it.

And where do they get their theocratic dictates if not from their scriptures?

The same place everyone does, their ****ing head. How stupid.

LOL. Spectacular cop-out.

When thieves get their hands amputated because of Sharia, did that punishment come from someone's head, or maybe, just maybe, did it come from verse 5:38, "As for the thief, both male and female, cut off their hands. It is the reward of their own deeds, an exemplary punishment from Allah. Allah is Mighty, Wise".

Try again, minus the gratuitous cop-out.
