I would hope that Canada would continue to accept Middle Eastern immigrants and refugees. Screen them, quarantine them, and use the time to begin educating them in language and other necessary skills/knowledge with teachers who agree to be quarantined themselves along with their students. We should aim to take in 50,000 refugees per annum and half that number of immigrants per annum from this war-torn region.

America might think about doing the same, though on a larger scale, if they can get rid of their bigoted and xenophobic chief executive in November. Screen, isolate, educate, integrate.
