Only Iranian woman to medal in Olympics defects from country | TheHill

Kimia Alizadeh, the only woman from Iran to medal in an Olympic Games, announced Saturday that she defected from the country, saying that she no longer wanted “to sit at the table of hypocrisy, lies, injustice and flattery.”

Alizadeh made the comments in an expansive Instagram post in which she denounced Tehran’s leadership and its impact on her life. She said that she was not invited to Europe, but that she must “accept the pain and hardship of homesickness” due to Iran’s "corruption and lies."

But the Democrats are falling over themselves to prop up and defend the Iranian regime (while they attack Trump) and the media to lionize Suleimani as some martyred hero of people.
If she's really gotten away, she's very lucky and I hope she's safe.

No she won't. You apparently haven't seen the news that thousands of Iranians are in the streets chanting, "Shame on the Revolutionary Guard!" and "Death to the liars!".

I doubt the regime will send killers to Holland to take out one woman while crowds are protesting in the streets at home.
She's no Salman Rushdie and even he, for all his blasphemy, wasn't 'hit'.

Oh yeah, there is a huge number of Shia in the Netherlands, and Rushdie is still in hiding, and will be hit if he comes out publicly
