It seems we get a lot of input from groups that claim ISIS is not Islamic, just terrorist.

The leader Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi Education has multiple college degrees in Islamic and Koranic studies. They are a bachelor’s degree from the University of Baghdad in 1996 and a Master’s in 1999 and PhD in 2007 from Iraq’s Saddam University.

This would indicate he knows something about Islam.
The place he died in was littered with Islamic quotes.

While we will get conflicting rants from people who know nothing about the religion, and from Muslims who are hiding the intents, ( Taquyyia),
it seems we can draw no conclusion.

There are over 200 terror groups operating at any given time, and we only hear about the big ones, and they all have a surprising similarity.
They quote the religion as their source of action.

We also have the cold hard reality, that anyone who actually studies the religion, independent of each other, all come up with the same conclusion.

Much word salad, no citations.

Anyone who claims that ISIS are not true Muslims will have to answer whether or not they believe the rulers and people of Saudi Arabia are true Muslims as well, since both are broadly Sunni Fundamentalists and practice the same forms of harsh fundamentalism. And if indeed anyone here believes Sunni Fundamentalists (Whether ISIS Salafists or Saudi Arabian Wahhabis) are not "true" Muslims, who exactly are "true" Muslims and how is "true" Islam defined?

It’s always amazing how white liberals understand other people’s cultures better then they do?

Ironically ISIS started out as Sunni, but when they invoked Muhammeds orders to destroy the idols, and vowed to destroy Mecca, the House of Saud got pissed and excommunicated them.
They still claim Sunni,
All sects claim they are the "true Muslims". something common in all religions, however Islam orders the "Bad Muslims" to be killed.
Who are the "Bad muslims" you ask,
Easy answer...The other ones.

Also Sunni Islam has no central ruler, unlike Shia of Iran, so there are lots of sects that claim Sunni, but that does not stop them from killing each other.

I don't think it is an understanding of the culture, so much as the religion.
The religion is documented, and anyone can read it.
However, most chose not to.

Neither Muslims nor non-Muslims can "identify" what "true" Islam consists of. The same conundrum holds true of Christianity.

So we have to revert back to the original writings.

You are not an Islamic scholar.

When you receive your degree in Islamic studies - preferably from Al-Azhar University in Cairo - get back to us.

LOLOLOL

You don't have to be an Islamic scholar to read their books.

and BTW, If you get your degree from there, you are already trained in Taquyyia and Kitman, so only a fool would believe you anyways.

How would white Christians be in a class of people who study Islam.

I don't know any Christians who studied Islam.

People I know, like myself are mostly atheist.

Fixed for ya.

Christians of any race or skin color tend to understand the world better then the extremist left. That’s why leftists SOP is to repress Christianity any time they get control of power

It sounds to me like you are putting a label on people.
That original post was meant for me, and I am not a Christian.
People use Christian as something to blame when in most cases it does not apply.

Well be glad you're in America, eh?

Untrue.

There is the Ulama and the Magisterium.

No, because these are bent toward a specific branch,
and what is good for the goose, is not usually good for the gander.

Just because you refuse to accept something doesn't make it untrue.

Absolutely untrue. Whereas Christianity does NOT have a book that literally says, "what you are reading is God's definition of a religion called Christianity", Islam DOES have such a book. The Qur'an contains hundreds of verses saying that it must be followed for a person to be a Muslim. It's all summed up in verse 5:3 - "This day have I perfected your religion for you, completed My favour upon you, and have chosen for you Islam as your religion". It could not be more clear.

Just because you refuse to accept something doesn't make it untrue.

You might want to actually look up those words you posted.

There are about 73 different muslim sects, and most are killing each other.
There are virtually countless of Christian sects

which is the true one.
Each member will claim his is.

^^^ Huge cop out.

That's exactly what that is.
You don't have to be a certified mechanic to change a flat tire.
Islam is fully documented and anyone can read it.

Is Islam is a cult for the devout; convert or die.

all religions start out as cults.
It's when they gain money and power, they become religions.

Islam has written orders from God to, convert, subjugate, (Enslave) or kill, you, me, and our families.
