Article: What did the Kurds ever do for the US?

Leaders don't act out of cowardice, as does Lt. Bonespur.

Coward or not, he's still the Commander in Chief, and every soldier in the armed forces is under his command, unless they decide to resign.

And as Commander in Chief, he probably knows more about what the Kurds have been doing than a guy like Bill Taylor.

He famously avoids or ignores intelligence. I doubt if he knows much about anything.

He knows about the existence of the PPK, which is more than any American newsmen wanted to know. You can take satisfaction that the media is as incurious as you are as to whether the Kurds are playing games with us.

I have decades-long experience with the PPK, so you can save your lecture. In the case of Trump's betrayal, they are an excuse, not a reason.

Then, since I have made previous statements about how the PPK's activities may have compromised the Kurds generally, are you taking the position that the Kurdish government is in no way tied to the PPK?

Don't know and don't care. Erdogan is an oppressive thug who facilitated ISIS travel into and out of Syria. Syrian Kurds fought with us to destroy ISIS.

A friend who does you favors with the aim of manipulating you is no true friend.

In 2014 the Kurds declared a part of northern Syria theirs. They cleared the area of ISIS fighters, with our help. Then we asked them to keep fighting to eliminate ISIS from the whole area. The Kurds figured it was be good for them to have the US on their side, so they did, at great cost. About 11,000 dead Kurdish fighters.

Then Trump turned his back on them. The Russians have largely taken our place, although we still have a footprint there. A big win for Russia, Hussein, and Iran. And any potential future ally would be crazy to ally themselves with us. We can't be trusted.

Thanks a lot, Trump. I'm sure your pal in Moscow is really happy with you.
