Russian IL-20 shot down by Syria as Israel used it as cover for attack

To refer to the statement as a simple lie would have been inadequate. Your dropping is noted. Please wipe.

More childish nonsense...

Reality really disturbs you. Doesn't it?

Feel free to run off to RT/TASS/SPUTNIK for comfort and talking points.

You winging it is failing badly.

A Russian proxy shoots down the wrong target.... At least it wasn't Russian forces shooting down another airliner.

The Russians recently supplied the JIT with proof that the serial numbers of the BUK missile that shot down the Malaysian aircraft was documented in Ukrainian inventory/possession. The worm has turned. The Israeli diplomatic corps in Moscow may suffer some fatal auto accidents or aircraft accidents to and fro their diplomatic duties. Possibly 14 orr 15 diplomats, don't ya' know? Or not.'
/

I don't think anything major will come of this.

The Russian Government thus far has indicated while they believe the Israelis are at fault, the ultimate cause of the issue was a technical malfunction of a Syrian SAM targeting the wrong jet.

Probably some not nice words and barbs tossed, then a half-hearted apology by Tel Aviv, and then business as usual. Israel and Russia have too many mutually shared interests to let this develop into something serious.

RUSSIA : WE PROTEST THAT YOUR AIRCRAFT FORCED OUR PROXIES TO SHOOT DOWN OUR AIRCRAFT...

ISRAEL: We apologize for your inability to train the Syrians properly and the failures of your missile system.

Dutifully swallowing what the Russian "MSM" (aka STATE media) shovels.

You continue to claim Ukraine shot the airliner down. You believe the propagandists at RT et al.

After their claiming it wasn't a BUK. After their claiming it was an SU-25. After their claiming there were no Russians in Ukraine...

RT shovels... You swallow.

I heard that the Israeli planes were just sightseeing?

Israel could send them a Hallmark card....that always lets people know you are almost sorry.

"Dear Vlad,

We are simply heartbroken your Syrian allies shot down one of your aging turboprop aircraft that they mistook for a highly advanced jet fighter....have them talk to one of our friends in the floral shop, we can get you a nice deal on a "sorry we blasted one of your aircraft" floral arrangements and gift baskets....they really do smooth things over when you shoot down Russian planes; just ask the Turks....and tell them Bibi sent you."

Russian reply: My dear Bibi, recent events generating aerial confusion over Sovereign Syrian territory have necessitated improvement in tracking and targetting of the defensive inventory existing in Syria. Fortwith we shall improve those capacities with S-400 defensive systems with updated acquisition, tracking and targetting. Just for information, the headchoppers in Syria are all Sunnis, Wahhabis, etc,, not Shiites.

Whatever the Syrians think they can handle. :catapult:

“The Israeli pilots used the Russian plane as cover and set it up to be targeted by the Syrian air defense forces. As a consequence, the Il-20, which has radar cross-section much larger than the F-16, was shot down by an S-200 system missile,” the statement said.

The Russian ministry said the Israelis must have known that the Russian plane was present in the area, but this did not stop them from executing “the provocation.” Israel also failed to warn Russia about the planned operation in advance. The warning came just a minute before the attack started, which “did not leave time to move the Russian plane to a safe area,” the statement said.

I call bull****. The S-200 is a better system than that. My guess is the operators targeted the most obvious target without a transponder which makes one wonder why the Russian plane had it's transponder off? If it was on then Syria still deliberately targeted it suspecting they were being spoofed.

There is more to the story we aren't getting.

Debris was found 27km off the coast..... Isn't that a bit out of national waters?

The proof is in your posting.

What say you about firing Anti aircraft missiles over international waters and striking your Allies' aircraft?

It is RT.com reporting this special brand of stupid...

And why do you continue to lie about the White Helmets?

Russians over international waters trying to be stealthy.

Accuse me of bull and then come out with a fair amount of tosh.

Do you think that air defence systems recognise hostile aircraft by whether they have transponders on or off?

The S-200 interceptor missile, likely a 5V28 of some variety, does not have a particularly advanced terminal guidance system. So it's highly likely the missile targeted the wrong aircraft in its terminal flight.

After Putin's craven comment and an Israeli expression of regret, I think you're right.

And again, nonsense. Russia can only blame their Syrian puppets. Israel continues to engage in defensive measures that fall in line with its security needs, not illegal and not "aggression".

lmfao...here we go again, Israel, the eternally blameless...

I'm sorry that the facts are not what you wished them to be.

What should they be blamed for?

lol....nothing...nothing at all...ever...never...let us not even entertain the notion....this conversation never happened...shh...as you were...

In case your jimmies are currently rustled, the comment was directed at one participant, and not you, because of previous conversations. You're lacking the context to jump in here.
