First of all, I just read the rules of this forum. Wow. I will definitely try not to get even close to pushing the envelope. Please let me know if I say something wrong, though.

Hosni Mubarak was aquitted after a brief prison sentence, you may remember. Alaa and Gamal Mubarak did some time (four years) for corruption. So where is their father now? I haven't heard anything about him lately at all.

Home, not well, sure that America ****ed him over just as we did Gaddafi but the people who run the joint now dont need him making trouble and will punish him if he does so he mostly dies quietly.

The are still trying to find the money:

An interesting question. He should be 90 now.

The most recent thing I could find is this, and it's over a year old:

Mubarak has kept a low profile since he was freed, recently being photographed at a North coast resort with his son and granddaughter in seemingly in good health despite years of appearing in court in a stretcher.

His sons have made sporadic public appearances over the past few years, being seen at football matches and even dining in street restaurants.

With the country now being led by former army chief Abdel Fattah al-Sisi, who is seen as sympathetic to Mubarak, it seems the longtime autocrat will live out the rest of his life under the protection of the state.

That whole Arab Spring movement that forced him to step down was odd from the start -- but at least Mubarak was finally released -- not much hope that will happen to his successor -- Morsi.

Hi successor, Morsi, would likely be a rallying cry for his party (Muslim Brotherhood). So yeah, he isn't getting sprung anytime soon.

Last week Mohamed Morsi was sentenced to another term of life in prison, his third such sentence.

I'm not sure he is the lesser evil sometimes, but the Al-Sisi character is one evil looking ****head. Don't like or trust him even .00000000000001%

Trump likes Al-Sisi. That in itself should tell you something.

Obama threw in with Sisi before leaving office. Technically you're supposed to suspend payments of foreign aid when there's a coup; instead, John Kerry went to Cairo to make sure it was reinstated.

Doesn't surprise me about Morsi. The first president of Egypt, General Naguib, was under house arrest from his ouster in 1954 until 1982, after Mubarak became president.
