After years of deliberations, the Israeli Interior Ministry has resolved not to grant recognition to the Jewish community of Uganda, Haaretz has learned.

Its decision was revealed in a response to the first and only request thus far by a member of the 2,000-strong Ugandan Abayudaya community, who sought to immigrate to Israel under the Law of Return.

The response, obtained by Haaretz, notes that the applicant’s “conversion is not recognized for the purpose of receiving status in Israel” and that, therefore, he must leave the country by June 14 or risk deportation.

Converts are eligible to immigrate to Israel under the Law of Return, regardless of what movement they are affiliated with, provided they come from recognized Jewish communities. But through its response, the ministry clarified that it does not regard the Abayudaya as a recognized Jewish community.

The Abayudaya began practicing Judaism about 100 years ago, but were only officially converted in recent years. The Jewish Agency considers them to be a recognized Jewish community, but the Interior Ministry has the final say on such matters.

Israel has not yet learned how to be multicultural. While it took a years-long court battle to decide the fate of only 1 Ugandan Jewish man seeking citizenship in Israel, people from European Jewish communities seem to be welcomed with open arms.

Here are Israel's immigration stats for 2017-

The chief countries sending immigrants to Israel in 2017 were Russia (27%), the Ukraine (25%), France (13%) and the United States (10%). Most of the immigrants—20,200 people, or 75 percent of all immigrants—came from Europe. 4,200, or 15 percent of the immigrant population, came from the US and the Ukraine. Lastly, 1,400—or 5 percent—came from Asia and 1,200—4 percent—came from Africa.

Welcome to Israel!

Does this imply that Israel is a rascist State? Perhaps Israel's political policies are Zionist. Not Jewish.

In poor countries, less people can afford to emigrate. Let's look at (realistic) applications to acceptance rates, and reasons.

Ultimately, I expect we'll find Israel is less racist than most Western countries. They can't even be white nationalists, they're the boogeyman. Pretty much all racist organizations are closed to Jews, as far as I know. Being a Jew and a racist must be a lonely existence.

So, no.

It's not a theocracy.

I expected to find the same result, until I actually researched the topic. Can you prove that Israel "less racist than most Western countries"?

It sounds like you're referring to racist movements in the USA or Europe, which are applicable to Israel how exactly?

It's not a theocracy.

Israel is the most theocratic of any Western countries, and becoming more so every year, according to many moderate Jewish sources.

Since Israel is an apartheid state there is no question of racism.

Israeli immigration policy is predicated on maintaining a Jewish majority. It's close enough.

Ethnically Jewish, not Orthodox Jewish. Most of the Jewish majority barely practices if at all. Israel is a home for an ethnicity, not a religion. That's probably their objection to the application in the OP. Are their ethnically Jewish Africans? Yes. But not every group that converts.
