Turkey Dismisses U.S. Warning Against Buying Russian Missile System

I don't go back eight decades. Try a different tack.

Rogue Valley:

Nor do I go back that far either. That's why we have books, libraries and archives; in order to achieve more than a transient and partial awareness of what is going on around us in our lives. Context and history matter in the building of wisdom, historical context and in the dismantling of propaganda in all of its forms.

Cheers.

Then I suggest you start being more vocal about the Trump post-truth era.

Further radicalize? You do know that tens of thousands are in Erdogan's jails right? And more journalists than in any other nation?

His thugs even beat up US citizens in Washington. Further radicalize? wtf?

You;re acting like I just lavished praise on him or something. Is this post really necessary?

You advised ignoring Erdogan's evil, or things could get worse for the Turkish people.

I don't subscribe to that methodology. When dealing with brutal dictatorships, silence is not golden.

Russia, Iran, Turkey Criticize Western Airstrikes on Syria

Russia, Turkey, Iran stress unity at Syria talks

Seems to that these three [and Hezbollah] have indeed formed an alliance to counter Western influence in a post-apocalyptic Syria.

No, I did not. The world can handle Erdogan without the U.S., saying it is none of America's business is not "advising ignoring Erdogan," at all. That is patently dishonest. I expected better of you.

OK then, what do YOU propose? That we invade Turkey or something?

Do you realize how unbelievably ****ED everyone would be if the U.S. invaded Turkey?

We had a chance to stop all of this when we should have supported the coup attempt, Turkey's military has long held a check to dictators wanting to reverse Ataturk's democratic reforms after Ottoman Turkey played a hand in causing WWI and massacring Armenians. But, no, we sat around with our thumbs up our asses and did diddly-**** while Erdogan began to **** over Turkey and now here we are.

To say that the U.S. is the answer to all of the problems in the world is just narrow-minded and psychotic.

Still looks that way to me....

All this is going to do is further radicalize Erdogan and endanger the Turkish people by further pushing them into the clutches of a maniac.

And I never said the US should intervene. I've said all along to ditch Erdogan like the plague. He is no longer an ally of the West.

We pushed Turkey away when the US started arming the Kurds and Al Qaeda in their southern regions. We need to stop meddling over there.

The US is actively bombing AQ.

Gee, why am I not surprised that you think fighting against ISIS is "meddling".

Lessee now. The invading USA Army is sitting on the former ISIS oil fields that sold the oil to Turkey to support their terrorism. Since Turkey is a NATO member Nation, it stands to reason NATO approves. Now the US has the same oil fields, still operating, and the oil would use the same distribution routes. This goes back to asking why the USA would even be in Syria, as an invader, uninvited, unwanted, and occupying the area as a thief in the night. The US will say the Kurds are getting the money or some other narrative, but the oil flows. You figure it out. I've given you the tools.

So in other words your "evidence" consists of you babbling anti American crap. Noted.
