Iran's growing influence in the Middle East is triggering deep concerns in Tel Aviv, Riyadh and Washington. Citing a 2007 attack on a Syrian facility which was believed to be an atomic reactor, Israel has made it clear that it will not allow the emergence of a powerful nuclear rival in the region.

Israel's recognition of a 2007 strike against a supposed Syrian nuclear reactor appears to send a warning signal to Tehran as a new anti-Iranian coalition is emerging in the Middles East.

The only thing stopping Israel from attacking Iran's key nuclear facilities is the round-trip distance involved. The IDF lacked mid-air refueling capacity that would be needed if their pilots & aircraft would be able to return from bombing strikes inside Iran. That problem vanished in 2013 when the U.S. agreed to sell KC-135 refueling tankers to Israel: https://www.timesofisrael.com/reversing-policy-us-will-sell-israel-aerial-refueling-planes/

No, everyone knew the Israelis did it. And I have no issue with that.
