Report on the impact of the state of emergency on human rights in Turkey, including an update on the South-East (pdf)

From the Office of the United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights. 28 pages. Reviews Turkish human rights violations under Erdogan's State of Emergency, Erdogan's internal war against the minority Kurdish population. Not pretty.

Erdogan, for all practical purposes is a brutal dictator with no check, and Turkey is an authoritarian state. The democratic Turkey that was welcomed into the NATO alliance no longer exists.

To make it worse turkey is pretty bad on the human rights list, the worst offender saudi arabia is head of human rights at the un, and makes assad look like an angel by comparison to what they have been doing in yemen. To make it worse human rights in syria seems to focus exclusevily on assad and many western outlets have demanded cease fires while ignoring two chemical weapons factories in the last week found through advances in ghouta while stil claiming it must be assad responsible for all chemichal attacks.

Add to that turkey just contained afrin russia found intel showing us british and french sf training rebels in ghouta to incluse chemichal attacks, as well as intel that us and france were expected to attack damascus after another chemical attack with their intel showing rebels planning to attack themselves as a false flag, combined with a us navy buildup prior to their intel showing such, indicating an imminent strike. So far everything in syria has been a quagmire and it looks like by the day people are less and less trying to cover up their atrocities and more and more trying to start ww3 simply over foreign policy.

At this point I can no longer guess who is telling the truth and who is bluffing, but given russias recent statements warning the us britain and france, the west seems likely to start ww3 over syria, with israel as questionable on their stance and turkey starting to side more with russia than nato.
