Tens of thousands of Kurds living in the northern Syria (Rojava) city of Afrin (Efrîn/323,000+) are fleeing ... either to the town of Manbij which is held by US and Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF/YPG) or to areas controlled by Assad government forces. Fearing atrocities against Kurds and minorities, they are fleeing from Turkish forces and their Islamist irregular henchmen. These forces have destroyed power and water stations that supply the city of Afrin. The Kurdish YPG militia said war crimes are being committed by the Turkish invasion force. Kurdish YPG/YPJ forces are leaving the fight against ISIS in Raqqa and Deir al-Zor provinces and are returning to Rojava. But they are under orders to not engage Turkish forces in the city of Afrin. The canton of Afrin contains ~360 Kurdish villages, many now in flames and ruin.

Afrin is one of the cantons (regions) of the Kurdish homeland in northern Syria called Rojava. These are the Kurds that have decimated ISIS with US operators/air support. Now that the fight against ISIS is winding down, Donald Trump has decided to abandon the Rojava Kurds and allow Erdogan to slaughter these people and occupy their Syria homeland. Turkish officials are currently in Washington demanding that US forces in Manbij be withdrawn. It is Erdogan's intent to ethnically cleanse Rojava of Kurds, and replace them with Syrian Turkmen and Syrian Sunni Arabs. Erdogan has a vision of re-establishing Ottoman rule across the borders of modern Turkey. Turkey claims over 3,000 YPG/YPJ fighters have so far been "eliminated".

Cantons of Rojava - Afrin, Kobane, Cizire. Jarablus and al-Bab are already occupied by Turkey.
