Like the UN want another endless conflict that has unsumountable contention between disparate people.

Like the police in American cities seems the simile that comes to mind. ;)

And anyway, better them than us. It would make the global tribe more cognoscent of the questions, costs and unpleasantness involved in producing international security.

When I say exterminate I mean just exactly that. Like Gideon or the other old testament bastards. For us that is easier than training Afghans to shoot us in the back. It also sends a message to the other terrorist organizations. Its time to get old school like, old testament old school. Kill them all and salt the land and poison the wells old school. Just to remind the rest of the world that Americans aren't always nice.

Your sense of security and mine are two different things. Yours is complicated and expensive and unsure. Mine is simple and sure. Make them all dead. Dead people have no worries, and tend not shoot people or cause many problems.

Which is the problem. We need to act like we used to every great once in a while. Make people wonder. We don't have to ALL the time, just occasionally. Just enough to give people pause. We can be mostly harmless. Mostly.
