We have been in Playa Cocols, Costa Rica since Sunday. Juat north of the Panama border on the Carribean side. Just sitting and listening to the frogs, the howler monkeys, toucans, and the occasional sloth. Moments of torrential rain, I can just sit and watch the leaf cutter ants ply their trade. No fast food, everything is reachable by bicycle. This is the place to unwind....

And no American politics.

You have no idea, so much wildlife, we ride about 8 mile a day on the bikes, beer, wine, lobster, cevice. 4-5 hour drive from San Jose. CR is paradise, no military, chill police, the money is spent on universal healthcare and education. Most of the country is nature preserve, no mining, no forestry. We plan to retire here or Nicaragua.

I have never been to Costa Rica but I spent a few weeks in Nicaragua. The region is definitely on my list of possible retirement spots.

If the monkeys don't wake us, the macaws do. Full sun all day today, had some red snapper and mai-tai's for lunch, gonna get some beer and lobster for dinner
