I have a very eclectic taste in music. From soul through electronic to old folk like this example.

I followed the first 3 seasons of "Vikings," a TV series on History Channel. I found some of the music sampled in the show intriguing.

Recently I found this group surfing YouTube, and think it is interesting enough to share.

It may not be for everyone, but I offer it for your enjoyment.

:)

Icelandic primal meets Seattle grunge for a response:

She's grownup but still looks like she's 12:

Nordic legacy:

BTW, the real Danes and Swedes of the Viking era prided themselves with cleanliness and grooming, melodic music with choir like singing. They had their own runic music notation system, and left behind a great many musical manuscripts.

Thanks for your post. More current Icelandic and other recent Scandinavian bands are worth exploring. Some are truly exploring traditional music from the Viking era, others later Christian music, and far more primal scream rhythms, they are all in another world of music from what we hear in the US and western Europe. Bjork is a musical and performance art world unto herself. Her first album, released at age 11, is of Icelandic folk songs, some believed going back more than a thousand years.

Not bad until they made their voices angry. I like lots of foreign music. Everything from Asian to Gaelic to Indian (country India) to Aboriginal Australians song and dance. About the only music that I DON'T Like is death metal, heavy metal and rap.

I thought the Norse liked to heal their minds by lopping people's heads off...
