So, I'm at Holman Field this afternoon, sitting in my Ford 4x4, enjoying a really nice Regius Black Label cigar, watching aircraft take off & land, waiting for the Minnesota Vikings jets to leave after the Vikings WIN, and just taking in all of the UNnatural & natural things going on at the flood plains at the airport immediately west of the Mississippi River, and I see an unusual sighting; a Snowy Owl .................. it flew off of the top of the Minnesota Air National Guard helicopter hanger, just barely above ground level, and landed on an approach light array ............... the owl stayed there for at least 40 minutes, watching planes & jets taking off & landing, the owls' head continuously rotating nearly 360 degrees  ............... it was an entertaining show of what nature can bring to an urban setting :peace ................ wildlife  .............. **** politics ............... go have a nice cigar, somewhere ..........

They are beautiful. Only one i ever saw was driving from Calgary to Edmonton. There he/she was sitting on a farms fence post.

In my experience they are quite rare; the last one I saw was in 2002 in the west Twin Cities metro area .............. they are amazing creatures
