IDK. I hear all these people who want to take the police out of schools. These are the same people who will blame the police when a mass shooting hits those schools.

The only thing remotely approaching defunding is stuff like this:

Berkeley moves to replace police with unarmed civilians for traffic stops

Unarmed police but only for traffic stops, in Berkley, CA, which I haven't heard of being a particularly dangerous place.

Enough of these moronic lies about Hated Librulz wanting to abolish police. Maybe some wannabe anarchist with a sign somewhere wants that, but nobody who matters is advocating for it or will do it.

I was listening to an older Joe Rogan podcast with Bill Maher both who are "progressives"/ libertarian--- and in many ways liberal, but with at least some logical practicality-- and both reject cancel culture and the idiocy of infantile political correctness embraced by today's far left democratic party and social warrior class.

It was a good listen. I don't agree with a lot of what Bill Maher says, but he isn't an ignorant man-- and he made a good point about politicians who promise what they cannot deliver on in a two party system--- so all of this talk about what cannot work anyway is just a giant political circle jerk to herd dumb people and provide endless content for the 24 hours news cycle.

Not scientific. You have to take several variables in a study plus the study has to be long enough to show a certain trend. Not saying that your post is wrong..just incomplete.

I am pretty sure I would not want to live in Berkeley. Oakland is worse.

"Berkeley ranked at No. 289 with a safety score of 53.3 out of 100, in which zero is the worst score. The city reported a violent crime rate of 5.43 per 1,000 residents, lower than several cities that ranked above it, but it was weighed down in the rankings due to a high property crime rate of 49.07."

City of Berkeley ranks in bottom 20 of state's safest cities.

"With a crime rate of 57 per one thousand residents, Berkeley has one of the highest crime rates in America compared to all communities of all sizes - from the smallest towns to the very largest cities. One's chance of becoming a victim of either violent or property crime here is one in 17.

“Defunding police means defunding police.”

You got a problem with AOC??

Anyone want to post the full quote that Acadia dishonestly edited down and explain to him what she was actually saying?

No?

Well, whatever.

Yeah, that's what I thought.

Yeah, that's what I thought.

You thought I'd know that you were dishonestly cherry-picking a portion of a quote? Then why on Earth did you do it? Seems pretty stupid to me.

When the Democratic dictatorship takes over in January, I would not be surprised if the woke Congress passes a law that forbids the media to even report on the murders in Chicago and other cities.

Some woke cities have already banned the media from showing mug shots. And some newspapers now no longer even use the word "looting." Next up, I assume, will be a ban on TV news shows showing looters fleeing from stores.

There are statistics, facts, and damn lies... all can be used to paint a picture.

The first source you cite gives more weight to non-violent crimes in the overall ranking. Your link says the rate of non violent property crime pulls Berk down. The PD says they do have a problem with theft of personal electronics- hardly something to be fearful of and use to not live there...

The second source is notorious for poor rankings. Lawton OK is rated worse than 95% of the cities in the nation. Families moving here are fearful for their lives- until they have been here 6 months and then wonder how Lawton got such a terrible ranking.

One statistic they use in crime per square mile...

Oklahoma has miles and miles of nothing but miles and miles- to compare a densely populated city to vast stretches of rural pasture and farmland is ridiculous... :doh

But keep using what seems like very bias sources that manipulate stats to create fear... :peace

Do you live in Berkley or Oakland?

Noted: while you attacked the links I provided you provided none.

Do a search of images of Oakland. Looks like a city to me.

Let the Democrat Leftist Marxist BLM cities defund the police, they will be a 4th world rubble of a ****hole in 3 months tops!

We need to insist our legislators stop slacking.

The defense and protection of the state and of the United States is an obligation of all persons within the state. The legislature shall provide for the discharge of this obligation and for the maintenance and regulation of an organized militia.

Are you one of those bumpersticker boys that thinks "defund" means the same thing as "abolish" in this context? Or do you understand its about task reassignments and implementation of various mental health and community services with appropriate budget transfers?
