Are Conservatives fine with big government if it's done under the guise of Law and Order?

Do you mean like, more cops, training and that sort of thing? I'm more liberal than I am conservative socially, but when I hear "big government", I think of government intrusion on our private lives. Trying to link Trump to Nixon's version of "law and order", is just another way the MSM maintains the "racist narrative" against Trump. When one infers law and order to be "targeting blacks", that's a racist mindset right there. Race has no bearing on predisposition toward criminal behavior any more than hair color, or eye color.

Except the cops target black people more than white people:

So when Tamir Rice, George Floyd, Philando Castile, Eric Garner, Breonna Taylor were killed by the cops for no good reason, that didn't take their right to life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness?

If your counter-argument is ''cops shoot white people for bad reasons too'', okay, so was the death of Daniel Shaver justified in your opinion, and does the cops killing a white guy like Shaver for unjust reasons, negate all the black victims of police violence? Shouldn't the cops not kill people for unjust reasons, period?

Law and order you say? Going back to when carter was president, carter, clinton, and obama had a total of two criminal indictments and one conviction. One person went to jail under those three presidents.

Republicans, the party of law and order. Under nixon, reagan, both bushes and trump there have been two hundred and eight criminal indictments with one hundred and twelve criminal convictions with thirty six going to jail. Courtesy of the party of law and order.

When will the lie the republicans are the party of law and order finally be put to rest?

You asked how conservatives feel about "big government" and using "law and order" as a code for targeting blacks. You asked, I answered. To be clear, I don't view law and order as "big government" OR a "guise to target blacks". Just my opinion, no better or worse than yours or anybody else's. If that's the inference you draw however, the crime bill Joe Biden championed was very damaging to blacks. Do you support the prison reform bill Trump signed to help end the unfair sentences that Biden's bill caused? Biden bragged about it , you know?

It produces a split within the conservative movement between more traditional conservatives and libertarians. Generally, establishing law and order is (the conservative argument goes) one of the actual jobs of government, along with foreign defense.

Law and order severely limits my freedom. You would think that the Libertarians would agree with me. Tea party too.

Strictly speaking, law & order means constitutional governance.

We haven't had that in a long time.

law and order has always been about race, it is the hidden agenda behind all law and order movements. The original drug laws were about race. The NRA is about fear of minorities. The justice system is set up around punishing minorities. Jails are big business because of race. Anyone still believe we don't have systemic racism here in Murica?
