I had a strong hunch something was fishy with the fish tank killer story.

Now the cops are investigating her for murder.

Well, it goes to show if you hate Trump enough, you can create any story to fool Democrats.

Bet the cops are not Democrats. We will see, huh?

This reminds me of the Jussie Smollett case. This will be interesting!

There are a lot of monkeys on here who jumped onto this story and thought they got Trump good. Unlike these monkeys I'm gonna wait and see if she gets indicted before pounding my chest.

Your source is a right-wing conspiracy theory website. Why not read a real news article, one that comes from mainstream media like the NY Daily News? Do you people still believe in Santa Claus and the Easter Bunny too? You want to believe these fake news stories because it vindicates Trump. The Washington Free Beacon got caught lying their asses off and you fell for it hook, line and sinker.

Arizona cops deny investigating death of man who drank fish tank cleaner as homicide
No homicide investigation after man drank fish tank cleaner - New York Daily News

Police in Arizona denied a report Wednesday they were investigating the death of a man who ingested chloroquine phosphate as a homicide.

According to the Washington Free Beacon, Gary Lenius, 68, died March 22 in Mesa City when his wife Wanda, 61, served him a drink containing soda and chloroquine phosphate, a chemical used to clean fish tanks by killing algae, after President Trump touted chloroquine as a potential coronavirus cure.

Lenius experienced “immediate effects” within a half-hour and was taken to a hospital, where he died.

Wanda Lenius also consumed the dangerous cocktail and became ill but recovered.

However, the death raised eyebrows among Lenius’ family and friends who disputed initial reports that the couple mindlessly took the drug after hearing President Trump.

“What bothers me about this is that Gary was a very intelligent man, a retired (mechanical) engineer who designed systems for John Deere in Waterloo, Iowa, and I really can’t see the scenario where Gay would say, ‘Yes, please, I would love to drink some of that Koi fish tank cleaner,'” one friend told the Free Beacon. “It just doesn’t make sense.”

Instead, several people told the Free Beacon that the couple had a fretful relationship, including verbal abuse and an incident where Wanda assaulted Gary with a birdhouse.

Meh, from the op / article............

....UPDATE, April 29, 11:17 A.M.: After publication, a spokesman for the Mesa City Police Department told the Free Beacon that it is "normal protocol" for the homicide department to investigate "all death cases (other than obvious natural causes)" and that the death "has not been ruled a homicide at this time."....

Now wait a minute. You need to be fair here. If you Google "Is Gary Lenius death under investigation," you will learn that that multiple news outlets reported, incorrectly, that his death was being investigated as a homicide. So 15 hours ago from Yahoo: Woman Who Blamed Trump after Giving Her Husband Fish-Tank Cleaner Now Under Investigation for Murder

But 8 hours ago Yahoo published Police say death of Arizona man is not being investigated as a homicide

The Washington Free Beacon is a conservative political news site, but it's not a "right-wing conspiracy theory website." And if you're going to offer an example of mainstream news, good heavens, the NY Daily News is no more "real" than the Beacon. Or Yahoo.

I think what happened is that the Beacon and other outlets picked up on the investigation news and reached a hasty conclusion. Here's why from AZ Central:

The death of a man who ingested chloroquine phosphate with his wife in March has not been ruled a homicide at this time, Mesa police confirmed Wednesday.

...“The death of Gary Lenius has not been ruled a homicide at this time," said Detective Jason Flam, a Mesa police spokesman. "It is normal protocol at the Mesa Police Department for all death cases (other than obvious natural causes) to be investigated. All death cases are assigned to a homicide detective for their review as a matter of protocol.

"Please do not confuse this fact with what is currently being reported that this case is now a homicide investigation,” he continued. Gary Lenius: Death after ingesting chloroquine phosphate not a homicide at this time

No, their as much as journalism site as any other. But seeing as all you can do is attack the source.

Given what was presented in the article, there's is nothing really wrong here.

The investigation of the death followed protocol and that was it, nothing more.

The only thing that's off was the OP's speculation.

No, the police are not "investigating her for murder". It is a death investigation, as was clearly stated in your article.

The only thin off was the OP's speculation.
Yes, the bolded is indeed the problem, especially when his source clearly & specifically stated it was not a homicide investigation

Some posters just don't take the time to read through all of the article, or even some of the one's being linked through it as well.

It's a common mistake all things considered.

I think he just read that it was a homicide detective and connected the dots a bit too early.

Actually I did not speculate. I reported she is being investigated.

"What bothers me about this is that Gary was a very intelligent man, a retired [mechanical] engineer who designed systems for John Deere in Waterloo, Iowa, and I really can't see the scenario where Gary would say, ‘Yes, please, I would love to drink some of that Koi fish tank cleaner,'" one of his close friends told the Free Beacon. "It just doesn't make any sense."

Another source, who asked that all identifying information be withheld, told the Free Beacon earlier this month that Wanda Lenius "would constantly berate Gary in public.… Everyone was embarrassed for him, but he outwardly did not seem to care much."

"In our opinion, their marriage was seen outwardly to be as one-sided as a marriage possibly could be: Gary worshiped Wanda," this person said, adding that his wife "would routinely call him a doofus" and humiliate him in public.

Wanda Lenius was charged with domestic abuse assault in 2001 after she allegedly hit her husband and swung a mounted birdhouse at him. Gary Lenius declined to cooperate in the case, testifying that he was not injured or placed in fear of injury. His wife was exonerated.

What word are you complaining about given I did not say homicide.?

If that man died due to natural causes, he was not a smart retired engineer under duress by an abusive wife, but nuts. As she is a Democrat, I did expect blowback to try to defend her.

Technical knowledge doesn't always equate to having common sense.

OK, if not murder, then what? Is that the problem? Some want her to get away for giving a deadly dose to an allegedly smart man?
The problem is that in your OP you declared, "the cops are investigating her for murder", and yet your source specifically & categorically speaks otherwise to this claim. It's not the end of the world, mistakes happen. I'd just move-on & forget it ...

Coronavirus & Chloroquine -- Woman Who Gave Her Husband Fish-Tank Cleaner is Under Investigation for Murder | National Review

Arizona police are now conducting a homicide investigation into a woman who claimed she gave her husband fish tank cleaner after President Trump claimed the anti-malarial drug hydroxychloroquine was an effective treatment for coronavirus.

Wanda Lenius told NBC News last month that she and her husband Gary consumed fish tank cleaner because it contained a chemical that Trump suggested might be an effective prophylactic and treatment for coronavirus. The cocktail, which contained four teaspoons of fish tank cleaner mixed with soda water, put Wanda in the ICU and killed Gary. “My advice,” Wanda explained, is “don’t believe anything that the President says and his people because they don’t know what they’re talking about.”

Who cares? The bread is baked. Ten years from now people will be talking about the dumb ass who drank fishtank cleaner, not the woman who murdered him using fishtank cleaner.

But she's not being investigated for murder. Your source proves otherwise:

I'm going by your source, Robertinfremont. You're the one that posted it.

I supplied you with context too and headlines. Why do you dispute me rather than the source I myself posted for you?

For me, this amounts to a dog and pony worthless show. The cops are checking into his death. If he was so utterly stupid, I suspect they will find that out. But she said she gave him this crap and it killed him.

Recall how eager they were to blame Trump? Trump was not even at their home. She was.

Are you aware the "murder" article you posted today, is prior to your OP article's timestamp for the police release stating that this is not a murder investigation? Look at the timestamp in the byline of the article you posted today, vs the timestamp for the police statement in your OP article.

The problem I see, is you're not taking care with your sources.

But I'm not going to beat this into the dirt. You published an OP with added personal content which was erroneous, your OP source contained content showing you were in error, and I pointed that out. What you do with it from there, is your business.
