That's a farce, used as an excuse to justify their control of money markets today. Usury was first observed by Europeans in the east, where Jews practiced it before the church edicts which forbade money lending at exorbitant rates. It followed the Jews from the east, though Europe, and eventually to the new world, where they've even come to control central banks in South America. It's absolutely ludicrous to say they forced into doing any of that, especially when their religion encouraged it anyway.

The larger philosophical question is 'why has large parts of society expressed hatred for Jews over so long a period of time'?

Why have so many expressed anger or hatred or mistrust of Jews over such a long time frame?
