I don't think that he will be convicted. He needs to make sure this isn't pursued as a sex offense. Then he needs to plead no contest to something like simple misdemeanor battery and get deferred adjudication. That will let him avoid a conviction and get his record expunged.

I doubt the Justice system will allow the record of a 43 year old youth leader to be expunged on a sex crime conviction or plea. However, according to Georgia state law, he won't have to register as a sex offender unless he's been convicted of this before.
