This is bizarre.

Investigators detailed an intricate scam traced to two key suspects who oversaw the fraudulent transfer of at least $6 million and the attempted theft of an additional $40 million.

Once co-conspirators based in Nigeria, the United States and other countries persuaded victims to send money under false pretenses, the two Nigerian men who lived in Southern California coordinated the receipt of funds, the indictment says.

Bags of diamonds, elderly women and a false identity of a "nice guy" stuck in war-torn Syria.

Judging by the vast sums of money stolen, this thing obviously grew legs. And, it is far from being the only one.
Paul Delacourt of the FBI's Los Angeles warned people to be careful as romance scams escalate nationwide. The Federal Trade Commission has said scams that prey on vulnerable people cost Americans more money than any other fraud reported to the agency last year. More than 21,000 people were conned into sending $143 million in such schemes in 2018 alone, it reported.

A fool and his money are soon parted. Words never spoken truer.

It is just sad to see so many people gullible to these worn out old scams. The victims are not being mugged and robbed at gunpoint.

Constantly the police advise people over and over not to fall for this scam and others where someone wants you to take out money from your bank account

And yet people continually fall for this.

I remember my deceased mother once got a call she had won some lottery and they needed to find out a way to give her the money. These phone calls went on for some time. I told her hang up on them that they were thieves. But being the nice person she was she couldn't just hang up on someone. She understood it was a scam but she would still be nice to them. One time it was a man who called her then a woman. Drove me nuts telling her to slam that damn phone so hard it was their bust their eardrums. I wanted to physically hurt these pigs but you can't find them.

Oh I don't know. Millions of people in this country still give money to the church on a weekly basis.

Lonely woman hears good sob story...if not for that, few men would ever find a wife.

Some elderly people can still find their romance without scams.... lol

5 men, 85-year-old woman accused of lewd, sexual activity in Connecticut woods

After receiving complaints of people taking part in “lewd and sexual activity” in a Connecticut wooded area, Fairfield authorities arrested six people, all over the age of 60.

ABC7 reports that police responded to complaints about inappropriate behavior at the Grace Richardson conservation area in Fairfield. On August 9, officers from the Fairfield Police Department’s Quality of Life Unit and the Special Services Unit began investigating the incident and started surveilling the area.

On August 16, authorities arrested six people said to be involved in sexual activity in the area. Upon further investigation, authorities learned that the area, which encompasses 87 acres of land, had been advertised on a “City Hookup Guide” as a place to meet up, according to CT Post.

Church communities do do some good, you know, and not just because of religion.

It's called 'catfishing' and it's ridiculous. It shows just how stupid women can be. How desperate for a man, how lonely, and how they are so imprinted on by society that they believe they must have a man.

I've seen a couple of talk shows, like with Dr. Phil, where they talk to these women, in their 40s-60s. Just pathetic, they allow themselves to completely suspend all belief in the hope for love.

It's embarrassing for all women, it makes us all look stupid and weak.

It's funny tho, I occasionally get catfishing posts on FB. And they are 'classic,' everything that is described in the warnings. Same stories, same pics of the guys, same shpeil. (I have no idea how that's spelled, lol)

Many Democrats are totally fixated on their hatred of over 70% of Americans - Christians. Like you, they constantly search for any way to divert any topic to vomit out their pure bigotry against Christians as you do in your messages.

Every Christian should vote straight Republican in ever election for every office as if the lives of their loved ones and themselves depends on it.
