Murder In Canada

Waddy:

No one told you about the vibrant and warm underground city below Montreal? I wonder why that happened? In Quebec its wine and local moonshine called either alcool or Caribou. Beer and Whiskey are for the Anglos.

There are plenty of guns in Canada and in Montreal too. We just know how to keep and use them responsibly. We don't often shoot ourselves. In Montreal, the preferred means of suicide are drugs/alcohol or if you're feeling particularly desperate and dramatic, by jumping in front of a Metro train (subway) or by jumping off a bridge.

Cheers.
Evilroddy.

When the best a city has to offer is all underground then I think I'll pass. I can understand the drugs and alcohol. I wished for cocaine while I was there.

Tell all your friends. Everyone you know.
It's even worse than that out west. Tell them all.

But then every Alaskan over the age of 12 owns a gun, so there's that.

You can see Russia from the coast and they are the enemy that we are protecting you from...

Well, you're a little too late. I've been urging all the rednecks I know to move to Canada. What with all those furry critters just waiting to be shot, and plenty of loose women those rednecks think Canada sounds like heaven. They love the Moosehead beer. Move over, you're getting company.!!!

No, they won't like it. In fact, they'll be so confused, confounded and downright cold they'll be whimpering when they show up at the American customs stop on the way back south. Nothing humbles a southern braggart like unprotected exposure to northern people, northern climate and northern bush. No inches given here so your bro's will keep their delusions intact by staying where they're familiar and among sympatico's.
Hate to say this, it's been kind of unspoken but understood, but guys from the south just can't seem to cut it, don't seem to be able to cope. Not their fault, just the way it is.

With enough beer in them they'll do just fine. Besides, they love to pee in the snow. And as far as being confused, that's a way of life for them. Is it true the entire Canadian population spends the winter in Florida? Don't go no mo'...Florida bad!!!!

Florida is for those in eastern Canada Arizona is for western Canada

God Bless Canadians! Liked some of them more than others; never met one I didn't like! The French Canadians seemed a bit more moody and especially fond of their liquor.

In 1984, a fine young lady from Montreal... a graduate of Concordia University... visited Clearwater Florida, then motivated me to make a reciprocal trip to her home. She lived in a downtown flat on Saint-Catherine Street. We had good times in Florida and Canada. She went on to marry her longtime Canadian boyfriend. I married, in succession (3 day gap between marriages), one American gal, then another. Nothing threatening or dangerous happened near me during my time in Canada. I felt very safe.

Some Gino Vannelli music brings back good memories and embraces my notion of quality romance in Montreal -

If they're gonna come they're gonna come, I guess. We can get along with anyone, nearly. Just tell 'em not to shoot anyone while they're here and not to yodel when they sing.
People from all over the world make out fine here but American rednecks might be stymied by the language difference, though.

We're talking American rednecks here. They'd be stopped by a potato-field maze.

A full 36 seconds was required to stifle inappropriate workplace laughter at this dig. Just thought you should know.

Why? You speak proper English? That might throw them a little.

That is your problem right there...

Apologies! I knew that there was another one or two!

I have been in bear country a lot... around mostly brown bears in the Sierra Nevada's.

IOW, you admit you have no credibility, as I stated. Thanks for copping to thaqt.

The 'brown' bears in CA are still black bears, Ursus americanus.

Sorry, random pop-in.

I have never felt unsafe in Canada except for one time when navigation had me 30 miles or so on a dirt road with miles between houses. Always felt welcome in Ontario, Quebec not so much. Quebec is fun though....like going to another country. My wife and I are spending a long weekend in old Quebec City this fall.

Constitutional carry with more guns than people in Maine and NH. Gun violence per capita similar to Canada.

Many of my Ontario friends would trade Trudeau for Trump in a heart beat and give Quebec back if they could.
