Beating a suspect to prevent him from hurting himself.

:slapme:

Does an alarm go off every time someone starts a thread that doesn't fawn over the police? Seems like the same people show up every time to try to elicit annoyed responses by telling ridiculous lies about the situation.

Yeah, you might need to establish a benchmark for your own lies first.

No we are just pointing out the facts to the police haters again. The kid clearly advanced on the officer after being instructed on what to do. He then caught a beating that he absolutely deserved.

Are you sure he "caught a beating that he absolutely deserved"?

Disobedience is to be met with violence. Now kneel down and lick the boot.

I don't know, it seemed to work. They didn't back away when the cops were waving them and telling them to.....made an example of one.....bingo, everyone now steps away.

I think they went too far after the pepper spray though, even if it did work, the beat down was unnecessary.

Deescalation. If police can't control a situation without violence, they're no better than toddlers throwing tantrums and shouldn't be police.

How do you deescalate a mob surrounding you that will not stay back when told to? Do you even realize the **** hundreds of cops put up with on a daily basis? That cop does not represent all of them.

I'm sure they train cops to expect being treated like ****, yelled at, cursed at, spit at, disrespected, looked down on, etc. and most just stand there and take it. But being human, a few snap back.

I don't understand why the people doing the yelling, cursing, spitting, etc. are never held accountable for their actions. And who raises their kids to think that's acceptable behavior in the first place? You notice that nothing happened to anyone who WAS standing back and actually doing as requested.

Yes. It's right there on video. That's probably why I have never been beaten by a police officer. I always do exactly what they say. Some of us see this video and don't see it. That's probably why they demonize police officers.

In some circles proud braggarts get praised for fighting cops. That is how Michael Brown got himself shot.

Not letting the mob form in the first place. Establishing a firm boundary around the area. By doing your job instead of acting like a thug.

If they ca't handle the stress, they shouldn't be cops. Can you imagine any other profession where "I find my job stressful and want to hurt people" would be met with "it's ok, the stress justifies unnecessary violence''?

Who raises their kid to think it's ok to assault someone for picking up a phone? If cops can't handle stress, they shouldn't be cops. It's no coincidence that the rate of domestic violence is far higher amongst police than the general population.

And if that doesn't work? Until you actually do the job yourself, you are just armchair quarterbacking.

No one. Who raises their kid to think it's ok to move in and pick something up after being told to move away?

I said most stand there and take it. Guess you missed that part. Have a nice day.

You mean your point wasn't that violence is justified by non-violent disobedience and job stress?

No, I edited my response.

My point is that I said most stand there and take it.

So he deserved to have his head smashed into the pavement?

It is interesting to see people who pretend to be patriotic Americans cheer on pointless state-on-citizen violence. More instructive than "interesting", really.

Yep. 10 char

So just to clarify one more time, even though he clearly could have been, and was being apprehended in "controlled" manner by the other officer, his head should've been smashed into the ground?
Why?

He was resisting arrest. He deserved what he got. Next time he should obey the police...otherwise...stupid prize!

This is why EVERYONE should be armed. The police would be FAR less inclined to be impolite if the consequences for their actions were far more severe, such as life or death for instance.

If your not an nra member i will eat my hat.

And with "citizens" like you making statements like that, we have the government we deserve. What goes around comes around. :3oops:
