How is my choosing to take offense at your avatar different than you choosing to take offense at Superfly's? In both cases, one of us is choosing to take offense at something that the other is not offended by. Aren't we both being silly?

I don't share your offense. Nothing about Superfly's avatar offends me. If I'm not offended by her avatar and you are, is this any different than me being offended by your avatar when you are not? Our silliness is exactly equal. It is silly for me to be offended by a cat wearing a hat, and it is silly for you to be offended by a child giving the middle finger.

A federal appeals court says a Michigan woman's constitutional rights were violated when she was handed a speeding ticket after giving the finger to a suburban Detroit officer in 2017. The decision means a lawsuit by Debra Cruise-Gulyas can proceed.

In a 3-0 decision on Wednesday, the court said Taylor Officer Matthew Minard "should have known better", even if the driver was rude.

Do you guys seriously not value your time more than this, that you would sit and bicker in circles, when neither of you have any authority in the situation?

Excon, you've made your complaint and received your response. Seems like you can appeal to the mods, or go on about your business.

Anything else is a waste, just like this lady's bid to escape a speeding ticket by claiming she was somehow damaged when a cop got offended by her being rude to him.

It's tortured logic and a waste of resources, over nothing.

I was attempting to draw a parrallel between your bickering over avatars and the OP. Separate conversation. Not sure what response you're referring to.

And I'm not judging you for being offended (that's subjective,) only in arguing beyond the point of usefulness.

I'm not the one making demands, in any case.

That said, I'll go on about my business now. You guys can make a day of it!

How am I confused about the parrallels? They seem pretty clear to me. People becoming outraged and repeatedly pushing bad arguments they should be embarrassed by, over unimportant issues.

I would like to inform you that I'm a MiddleFingerist, and I will be highly offended if you DO change your avatar. Furthermore, my status as a MiddleFingerist is protected, my fellow MiddleFingerists having gone through a very rough time in Europe, during the populist palm inward V sign movement during WW2. Therefore, removing your avatar not only insults me personally, but also the entire history of my people, and the trials we have faced.

Please send assurances that you will never change your avatar, and if you do, it will continue to incorporate something flipping something the middle finger. Our proud heritage depends on it.

I have had it for close to two years, and it's heritage is also extremely important to me.

Save removal being forced by the royal family, I shall continually wear my crest with pride.
