Slugging people over religious debates

Lets say at a Christian church there is this pastor who is preaching against homosexuality, talking about homosexuality being bad as Christian pastors often like to do. Now, there are some people who will get really offended by that. So lets say there's somebody in the church who gets really offended by the pastor preaching against homosexuality and so he slugs the pastor and in court he says it was over a religious debate. Now Im only using homosexuality as an example here because it is one of those things that some religions are very much against and its also one of those things that some people will get really offended about if you say it's bad. It could be any kind of religious debate. The point is, how would saying it was over a religious debate work for you in court if you were to try to use it as a justification for slugging somebody?

Since you cannot use personal offense or "fighting words" to justify physical violence, this defense would be very unlikely to hold up in Court.

Well, I have read that some young men use what I think is called the "homosexual panic" defense.

That is to say, male X kills male Y.

In court, male X claims that the dead male had propositioned or even touched him.

So male X says that he was so shocked that he had to defend himself.

In some states, I hear, this defense may be accepted by a jury.

(Here in Los Angeles, a young man is on trial for killing an openly gay friend, who supposedly suddenly kissed him. He was so shocked and disgusted that he killed him. The court says that he must stand trial. I think it will also be considered a hate crime.)

Dont slug people unless they slug you first, to include women....That's what I say.
 
if you don’t like what the pastor says then leave. If you punch him because you are offended then you deserve to be arrested and charges.

How awesome would it be to be able to go up to Pastors and just be able to slug them in the face for saying offensive things!!
 
I once heard of a case in a Christian church where a pastor was vehemently preaching against obesity and putting fat people down. These two big fat ladies who were in the congregation and who were twins got up and rushed the pastor.

Hopefully these fat ****s were arrested and tried as Religious Persecutors... Religion is Sacred and nobody should be allowed to attack the church.

You are just itching to find a legal way to belt people, arent you?

You fear punishment a great deal it seems, but really really want to take out all your issues physically.

I usually believe that laws dont really stop alot of crime but perhaps you are an example that indicates otherwise.

Getting mad over someone else's opinion is never a justification for violence.

A lack of self-control is likely the cause of both their rush and their weight.

It depends. If this pastor recommended that you send your gay son to "Conversion Therapy" and he committed suicide because of it like many of them do, I'd say he deserves a punch in the nose at least. And you wouldn't care if you "got away" with it or not.

I was thinking the same thing when I saw who it was that posted it. I look forward to the next 30 threads seeking a legal way to punch someone.
