[W:103]I Don't Answer Questions

The OP is only for white people. Try that crap while black and see what happens.

Re: I Don't Answer Questions

depends on the circumstances. If they ask you your name and for your driver's license and you are driving and you don't answer or respond to that-you're asking for trouble. Now if you just were mugged and you wasted the mugger your answer should be

I was in fear of my life and I am traumatized by the attack upon my person. I need time to collect my thoughts. I will be happy to answer any questions you have after I have consulted with my attorney.

But make sure to say the bolded less coherently. Shaking and a tremulous voice would also help, but probably would look fake if faked.

(Though I suspect only a true sociopath would have to fake the effects of an adrenaline overload)

I once seriously pissed off a cop by standing about ten feet away from this (white) cop who was getting absurdly aggressive, but not yet to the point of throwing blows, with this black civilian. He started shouting and gesturing at me to get away, don't interfere (I wasn't doing anything but standing and looking), etc. Fortunately it was outside a subway stop and other people wandered over, since the cop finally realized that maybe it wouldn't be a good idea to beat two people and charge them with disorderly or whatever, and muttered something to the black guy before walking off...

In Cambrige, no less.

Re: I Don't Answer Questions

When being asked questions, any questions by police, a good simple response could be, "I don't answer questions."

Lol. You do that. While you have the right to remain silent, officers still have the right to get your name, DOB, address, license, registration, and proof of insurance when you're being detained or being pulled over.

Re: I Don't Answer Questions

massa tells you what your rights are. when your laying on the ground. you piece of ****.

Stop respomding to yourself. It makes you look conceited.

Re: I Don't Answer Questions

the "i don't answer questions" strategy reminds me of those stupid traffic stop videos where armchair constitutional lawyers try to play games with the cops. my guess is that you're more likely than not going to end up in handcuffs if you employ that strategy in the wild.

I love those youtube videos... LOL where they won't roll down their windows either. The best ones are teh sovereign citizen ones that say they don't have to follow US law or need a drivers license stuff like that...

It is OK if it is funny... but his posts are stupid instead.

I wasnt really responding to myself, as much as adding to the previous comment. but thanks . i certainly do not want to appear conceited

Yeah, if you want to sat down in the back of the car, that'll work.

Re: I Don't Answer Questions

I can see why its a good idea to answer questions in a case like that but in most cases where I get pulled over or otherwise harassed by police I might simply say I don't answer questions.

You get pulled over because you're driving badly, OR because the cops know you... and you don't take care of your car and pulled for a busted tail light 'er something.

I believe that you're obligated to provide ID, but otherwise there's nothing wrong with saying that. There's tons of Youtube videos of guys doing that sort of thing.

It's just likely to piss of the cop, extend the encounter, and destroy any hope of getting let off easy for anything.

It just doesn't seem like the smart move. I said it before in your similar thread, police will generally treat you as you treat them.

Re: I Don't Answer Questions

It depends on what is more important to you in that moment: being right or getting to where you are trying to go as soon as possible.

Re: I Don't Answer Questions

You just answered a question by saying you don’t answer questions. Lying to police as your opening statement...not good.
Only if he was asked if he answers questions.

And lying to police isn't necessarily illegal.

IF you have a deep and abiding desire to see what the inside of a jail looks like.

Do that alot, do you?

Re: I Don't Answer Questions

Traffic stop:

Police: "Sir, have you anything to drink tonight?"

Answer: "I don't answer questions."

I wonder how that might turn out.

Nope, the OP is for all people.

they will claim they smell booze on your breath and demand you take a field sobriety test of blow on the breathalyzer. In Ohio-refusing to do so is a mandatory loss of a license. Getting a DUI often means less of a suspension though 3 days mandatory jail time or in house (ie locked up) booze abuse program. BTW you can still be convicted of DUI if you don't take the test based on the cop's testimony

Why is everyone assuming the police interaction involves driving? OP made no such claim.

Police detain white people for being a dick all the time. They don't care what color that dick may be.

Re: I Don't Answer Questions

Why would it be so hard for people to be friendly to the cops?

We expect the same from them.....right?

If a cop is being belligerent, or they are asking questions that are outside of their authority, then report them.

Easy Peasy!
