How to 'Christine Blasey Ford-Proof' Your Son

Use a fake name, and give out a phony phone number. That always worked for me. Still works on forums like this.

I think I would add:

6. Your actions cannot control the actions of others, and all people are broken sinners. When people sin against you, remember your own brokenness and pray for the peace to show them Grace.

That is wrong, with one exception, you have enough money to cover a sever accident. Otherwise you need insurance. You may drive absolutely correctly and safely and still be involved in an accident, just from odd ball things like trees birds and rocks let alone actual other vehicles. The very nature of driving on public highways as they are designed almost guarantees you will be in some sort of incident in your lifetime. The odds are very much against you. The more you drive the more likely it is you will have an incident. The only sure way to prevent an accident is to not drive.

In general a good rule. However there are exceptions to rule 6. There are some things that praying and grace do not assuage and reprisal is the order of the day.

:( This country is losing it's willingness to be decent to each other, regardless of circumstances. Wonder how far the violence will spread beyond assassination attempts before we realize what we've done.

The same premise applies being accused of sexual harassment.

Being decent is what I try to do always. That said, I am not going to be a door mat. If that means I have to be a ruthless rat bastard so be it. I dont have to do that often. In the real world most people I have ever interacted with were decent people who where quite reasonable even in conflict. I can count on two hands the number of unreasonable people I have dealt with in my life of 45+ years.

The best way to proof your son against such accusations is to teach him not to be rapey, but respectful instead.

True, one would think that the basic rules of civility and conduct would not have to be retaught again and again at this point, looks like I am wrong in that area. Hey look at the bright side, maybe this case will be the driving factor in a movement to get us on a pathway that changes how view behavior such as was described by Ford and too many other women. Such behavior should be abhorrent in society and considered unacceptable, but it is obvious we still have a long way to go.

Sadly, true. Makes one wonder if some of those defenders might have some skeletons in their own closests.
Real Men do not sexually assault women, drunk or otherwise, and have no respect for those that do or excuse it. We saw it in the Roy Moore bid for office and it continues today, and shows that there still a whole lot if further maturing required before real change is possible. It is a very slow process, but it has finally become a higher priority among many Americans and the discussion needs to continue with across this Nation.
