A half-witted PD could get him off on entrapment and a victim of blackmail or at least a reduced charge enough to keep his time minimal or non existent.

Leaving everything you own on a sex charge and flying off to a non extradition country seems a bit of an over reaction to me for what truly amounts to a soliciting prostitution charge.

I mean let's look at it, it was consensual and the girl misrepresented herself. If he's got the means to fly off like that, he's got the means to a decent attorney.

In Texas it is illegal for someone 18 years old or older to have sex with anyone under the age of 17 (Statutory Rape).

Degrees of Statutory Rape in Texas:
• No penetration = Sexual Indecency With A Child.
• Penetration = Sexual Assault On A Child.

· The prosecutor does not have to prove violence, force, or coercion in order to prove statutory rape, sexual assault, or indecency.
· It is enough that an adult had sex or sexual contact with a minor.
· It doesn’t matter if the act was consensual. Texas law states the age of consent is 17 years old.
