If the Manafort jury convicts, what is the move by the POTUS? If a pardon is in the offing, does the WH wait until a verdict in the Sep trial and “blanket pardon,” or issue the pardons as the verdicts are reached?

Regardless of the outcome of this trial, does the bail go back into effect or will Manafort be held in solitary until the next legal proceeding?

I'm aware of the charges against Manafort but haven't had the opportunity to follow the trial too much. If he is convicted of tax evasion, especially in the methods he's been accused of, I don't see a good reason to pardon him.

The president doesn't legally need a reason to pardon. Before Trump I would have argued that a president would have needed a political reason to pardon someone, but to his conservative supporters Trump is teflon. Their loyalty is so unquestioning, he no longer needs to explain his actions.

I’m not sure that has been the rationale for the prior pardons. IMO, the prior pardons are like taking a new muscle car for a spin, as the driver stands on the accelerator, he states , “let’s see what this bitch will do!”

Presidential pardons seem to me to be one of the most hypocritical and undemocratic inventions of the American republic. One person being able to pardon what a court and jury has leveled seems like something Kings would do, not equals elected to an office.

The only time it should ever be used is when a clear abuse of process has taken place and a clear innocent has been wrongly convicted. Political "friends" should never be pardoned.
