Ten-year-old Michael Thomas Jr. was handcuffed by several Chicago officers, accused of escaping jail

No child under 12 should be arrested, they should simply be returned to their parents. No child under 12 should be prosecuted, only 12 years and older should be sent to juvenile court. Children are not old enough to comprehend the consequences of their immature choices. And for that reason they should not be prosecuted.

So if an 11 year shot up a school, he should be released to his parents and never face trial?

When I was around 10 years old me and my friends went into a nintendo rental place and my friends stole 2 games. I got slapped in handcuffs because I was with them. I was bawling my eyes out but it was understandable.

I couldnt imagine being innocent and having grown men surround me and telling me I escaped from prison and they were gonna arrest me for having a gun.

Id piss my pants liike this little boy too! These cops should be fired for racism.

What kinda cop cant outrun a 10 year old??? By these own cops words they should be fired for running slower than a 10 year old.

Do you have any evidence that they were racist?

That is how our legal system works, and where I live there is close to zero chance of anything like that ever happening.

Well, that isn't how our legal system works and thank God it doesn't.

I would disagree if not for the fact that kids in the US can get their hands on deadly weapons very easily. But juvenile court needs to be the norm. It is idiotic to prosecute 15 year olds as adults, especially for minor crimes like theft.

Did the suspect they look for just commit the crime? It happened the day before. If it was 45 minutes after the crime I could see them stoppin someone JUST TO ASK THEM QUESTIONS. But it was the next day, a whole day later and they are still pretending to use the same Suspect ID the next day still.
Where do you get the idea that this was the next day when it was reported that the Police were responding to multiple calls of a 10-12 year old with a gun?

We all know what happened... The cops got mad that some little black boy was scared of them and ran when the patrol car came around the corner (even tho he was innocent).
The rational thinking among us do know what happened. The police responded appropriately to a person in the same area, matching the description, who then took off running when he was approached.

Which is understandable because cops actually shot and killed his dad.
That can be a reasonable response from a juvenile depending on what they were taught from the adults in their life. Not necessarily so though. But it would not negate the appropriateness of the Officers giving chase and detaining.

Leave it to a statist to explain his "non-racism" as a known innocent little black boy pees his pants in handcuffs.
Hilarious.
Statist? Wrong.
And this juvenile peeing his pants is irrelevant to the fact that it was not a racist act and also irrelevant to the appropriateness of the Officer's actions.
As for this non-racism insinuation bs you spew ... Thus far you have failed to show any racism in the Officer's actions nor could you as it is completely absent.
