Is it still too soon to start talking about actually doing something to address the issue of gun violence in the US or as we still in the "thoughts and prayers" stage?

The issue is, as always, that "doing something" tends to be a code word for "take away the rights of law abiding citizens without due process".

Well Dineydude, please tell me what efforts do you think the government should take? Do you want to address gun's? Or gun crime for starters? I seriously would like to know. We can talk about it and see how realistic those measures might be. I will then tell you mine as well. You can then tell me how if any effect they would have as well.

There was an armed resource officer who was shot.[don't know if his condition] This art center was apparently in an isolated area of the school so, the shooter planned this out well.

Yep, stand by for politicians to spend two weeks like they care and/or want to do anything about it.
 
Since the NRA owns our legislators, parents will simply have to home-school their kids and utilize online courses.

Reconfigure schools as office-parks/business-incubators or knock them down.
 
How many members of the NRA? Assuming they are all active voters, and vote single issue, are they really a substantial voting bloc? I am not a member, sometimes the NRA is a bit extreme, OTOH it seems the anti-gun crowd is extreme most of the time.
I am for much stiffer penalties when a gun is used in a crime. That would include parents when they allow their children access to weapons.

My impression of every anti-2nd amendment piece of **** after every mass shooting involving white victims.Yes I said white victims because anti-2nd amendment trash tend to not care about the shootings that go on in Chicago and other places that involve racial minority victims.Those victims far outnumber any victims of mass shootings..
