This is a pretty big deal. If he gets fired before he retires there goes his pension. This was a recommendation after an IG investigation of multiple different issues and he has been recommended to be fired by an internal FBI panel and it is now up to Sessions on whether to follow through with the recommendation or not.

This type of thing being done to someone at that level, after serving 20 years, isn't done unless there was some very egregious issues.

Attorney General Jeff Sessions is facing a decision about whether to fire former FBI Deputy Director Andrew McCabe just days before he is scheduled to retire, media reports said Wednesday.

In the wake of repeated public and private criticism from President Donald Trump, McCabe stepped down in January and announced plans to take accumulated leave in advance of his retirement. But if he is fired before Sunday, he could be deprived of the pension for which he is currently eligible.

The FBI's Office of Professional Responsibility recommended McCabe's firing in response to allegations in an as-yet-unreleased inspector general's report, a source close to the investigation told POLITICO Wednesday.

The inspector general review covers the bureau's activities before the 2016 election, including the handling of the investigation into Hillary Clinton's private e-mail account. The inspector general believed McCabe was not forthcoming during the review, triggering a disciplinary process that led to the recommendation he be fired, the New York Times and other outlets reported.

Looks like the "nothing to see here" crown w/regard to the corruption rampant in the FBI is constantly shown to have no legs to stand on. I just love how this entire crusade to get Trump has turned out way more things on the FBI, DNC, the Obama administration, and the Hillary campaign. Pure poetic justice.

All the Left can do is accuse Trump of doing this. They somehow completely ignore the fact that the recommendation came from the FBI. How bad does it have to be for the FBI to recommend firing a long-time employee who worked at the highest levels of the organization?

If what they say he did is true he should be fired and lose his pension.

According to the guy I saw, the timing doesn't matter. If you leave the FBI for any reason, under investigation, should they decide you are guilty they can retroactively take your pension and claw back any money you have already received.

He better act quickly since McCabe officially retires in less than a week (5 days?).

Trump now has a clear idea who has allegiance to the FAILED INTELLIGENTSIA! and who has allegiance to the people...he will act accordingly.

Phfft! Trump will flail about, pout that not everybody likes him, pretend to know what's going on, act (maybe)... and his Suckers will rejoice regardless.

If I was in the FBI for twenty years, I would adhere to the J. Edgar Hoover method of job security.

“Pure TNT” (how former FBI Assistant Director Chris Swecker describes the highly anticipated report from the DOJ's Inspector General Michael Horowitz.
The Inspector General's report is thought to include evidence of outgoing Deputy FBI Director Andrew McCabe ordering agents to alter "302" forms (the paperwork an agent files after interviewing someone).
Horowitz is also reportedly homing in on McCabe's handling of the Anthony Weiner laptop after reports emerged that he wanted to avoid taking action on the FBI's findings until after the 2016 election.
McCabe would be guilty of obstruction of justice if the IG determines this actually did happen.

On the Strzok-mistress emails:
Swecker: “The behavior if it’s manifested in the action with your thumb on the scale of a particular investigation, one way or the other, that’s borderline criminal behavior —manipulating an investigation. I think this IG report is going to be particularly impactful, more so than any of these useless congressional investigations. I think you’re going to see some pure TNT come out in this IG report.” https://www.zerohedge.com/news/2018...ys-upcoming-inspector-general-report-pure-tnt

That's a very good point Acadia that others have pointed out in this thread but needs to be repeated.
For the FBI to recommend he be fired says volumes. I don't think we know everything yet. I was under the impression we would know today if McCabe gets the axe.

All this on the heels of learning James Clapper was the one who leaked to CNN sensitive material after lying that he didn't. And today " text messages obtained by The Federalist show that Peter Strzok and Lisa Page conspired to collude with Judge Rudolph Contreras, a FISA judge who presided over Michael Flynn's guilty plea and was later removed from the case."
the text messages about Contreras between controversial Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) lawyer Lisa Page and Peter Strzok, the senior FBI counterintelligence official who was kicked off Robert Mueller’s special counsel team, were deliberately hidden from Congress, multiple congressional investigators told The Federalist.

I doubt CNN will lead with this story but you can read about it at the link below. It is really scary to learn the depth of politicization in Obama's Intel agencies and why another special counsel is needed to flush it all out.
FBI Agent Who Interviewed Flynn Had Personal Relationship With Recused Judge
McCabe may be the first fired but I don't think the last.

Why is this thread so quiet? This is big news, I would think. For anyone honestly interested in the truth.

Edit: Why didn't we hear breaking news that Clapper leaked sensitive material and lied about it??

"After an extensive and fair investigation and according to Department of Justice procedure, the Department’s Office of the Inspector General provided its report on allegations of misconduct by Andrew McCabe to the FBI’s Office of Professional Responsibility," Sessions said in a statement at about 10 p.m. ET Friday night. "The FBI’s OPR then reviewed the report and underlying documents and issued a disciplinary proposal recommending the dismissal of Mr. McCabe. Both the OIG and FBI OPR reports concluded that Mr. McCabe had made an unauthorized disclosure to the news media and lacked candor (including under oath) on multiple occasions." https://www.nbcnews.com/politics/justice-department/sessions-fires-mccabe-he-can-retire-n856751
Candor is the quality of being open and honest in expression, frankness.
Tom Fuentes, retired assistant FBI director, told The Daily Beast that the fact that McCabe was charged with lacking candor is significant. “From the day you become an agent, and I mean the very first minute you’re at Quantico, you are told that lack of candor is the very worst sin you can commit, just short of murder.”

Fuentes added that he didn’t think Trump’s insistence that Sessions fire McCabe informed the Bureau’s Office of Professional Responsibility (OPR), which, according to Sessions’ statement, recommended McCabe’s firing.
“You have the OPR recommending the firing,” Fuentes told The Daily Beast. “That’s not going to be a political decision.” https://www.thedailybeast.com/jeff-sessions-fires-fbis-andrew-mccabe-days-before-retirement
