NYPD det convicted of creating fake drug case to jail innocent man in Rikers Island for 7 weeks

Nothing much worse, than a dirty cop.
 
I’m glad it was “only” 7 weeks before they figured it out.
 
Here come the conservatives who will think one dirty NY cop means all NY cops are dirty.

Oh, "they" didn't figure anything out. A suspect's relative found a video that showed the defendant playing pool when he was supposed to have been selling drugs. It also showed the cop stealing $300 from him.

One of the few upsides to a surveillance society, I guess.....

But then, how many other cases are there where the police don't get caught?

a LEO making a false claim to keep a citizen locked up & behind bars? IMO the punishment for that should be life in prison, no parole ............
 
Nothing much worse, than a dirty cop.

Except for much much dirtier higher officials like the US war criminal/terrorist presidents and their underlings, who are still higher on the scale than cops.
