Below is one of the many videos, which you can find on just about every news site, about Larry Nassar's sentencing. Larry Nassar is already serving 60 years for child porn, and is being sentenced for his predatory activities as a doctor for the USA Gymnastics. 98 victims are due to testify this week. The testimony is heart-rending.

Kyle Stephens testified that she "knew Nassar not as a gymnast but as a family friend. She testified that Nassar’s abuse, which first occurred when she was 6 years old, caused her to experience depression, anxiety, and eating disorders, and that she would often lie on the floor for hours, pulling out her hair and thinking of her gun. She testified that when her parents refused to believe her, it destroyed her relationship with them, and that her father’s realization of the truth contributed to his suicide." See Victims Confront USA Gymnastics Doctor Larry Nassar in Court. From the same article: "The third to speak, Donna Markham, spoke on behalf of her daughter, Chelsea, who died by suicide in 2009 when she was 23. 'It all started with him,' she said."
In no way to I want to denigrate these victims or excuse Nassar's horrific crimes. But one wonders, why the emotionally wrought testimony here, when the same people have problems with "mass incarceration" of street criminals. Is there perhaps some riding a political wave here?
