I don't often agree with the ACLU but...

I think the law is draconian. Where I live, an 18 year old high school student (senior) got arrested and charged with statutory rape and possession of child pornography because he took a picture of his 16 year old (sophomore) girlfriend giving him a hummer in his car. If he gets convicted he will have to register as a sex offender for the rest of his life.

I'm all for harsh punishment of pedophiles but this is insane.

Girl Charged After Sending Explicit Selfie: ‘I’m Not A Criminal’ « WCCO | CBS Minnesota

..this is just nuts.

So I'm not a big fan if 14 year olds sending naked selfies but I was 14 once and can sure see how this might seem like a good idea at the time. I mean, who among us never played doctor? This is an issue for the parents, not the courts. There is no way in hell that this kid should be deemed a sexual predator and whoever charged her is a damned idiot.

Yea this is absolutely stupid on both sides of the equation.

Welcome to what liberal authoritarian laws do to people.

In the old days, "liberal authoritarian" was a contradiction in terms. Today it is part of the left-right paradigm echo chamber.

Yep.

Liberal doesn't mean what it used to.

You’re the only arguing that an underage teen shouldn’t be punished for posting Nudes of themselves online so that you can see them.

What in the ever loving **** is wrong with you?
